Making a Training Remote
« on: November 02, 2016, 10:01:49 am »
So I know there's a regimen in the Jedi Academy Training Manual for Training Remotes, but has anyone actually written up the stats for a Training Remote? I want to use one (or several) in a game, but I'm not sure what the stats would be. It should be a type of hovering Droid, I would think. A type of Battle Droid - so a 4th Degree Droid. With a stinging or stunning blaster. Or several. But what stats should it have? Should it need Initiative since the Jedi is only going to respond to it's attacks? Should it have a shutdown feature for Redirected attacks? How many times could it fire in a turn? Could it be used as a sentry at an outpost?

Many questions to answer...

Any ideas?

I'd just write it up as a very basic NH1 to NH3 droid.  I don't think it needs to be anything special especially if you consider a training remote may be used by 1st-level hero types as a training tool.  It really doesn't need to be all that challenging.

This isn't fully written out but:
Tiny 4th-degree droid, NH 2
STR 7, DEX 17, INT 8, WIS 10, CHA 8
Speed 6 hovering
Equipment:  Blaster Pistol on stabilized tool mount, Basic Processor

To be honest, I've never really considered Initiative to be an essential skill in SWSE.  As long as there is no Surprise Round there is no flat-footed during the first round of combat until your turn comes up.

Relatively close to my suggestion.  Diminutive 4th Degree droid NH2.  A weaker weapon then I put in but still...
