Sagasheet
« on: August 03, 2013, 02:00:49 pm »
This is the new home for Kenad Broki's Sagasheet -- an Excel Saga Edition character generator. Credit to Kenad Broki for it's creation and Ilmion for programming fixes.

Here is the latest Sagasheet. It is called Sagasheet 1.5.0 for Excel. It's an "xlsm" file but it works with newer versions of Excel. You have to have macros enabled otherwise the sheet won't work.

Download Sagasheet!

Note: the latest version of Sagasheet can always be downloaded from my signature.

For a list of known issues, see the "Known Issues" tab in the file. Otherwise you can let me know if there are any bugs by posting on this thread. If anyone knows how to use Visual Basic and can help with fixing some of these issues, your help would be greatly appreciated since I only host the file and have no programming skills.

The only real bug you need to pay attention to is when you want to make a droid. Do not select "Droid" from the Species drop-down menu. Instead, select a particular stock droid chassis (ex: Droid, Battle; Droid, Medical; Droid, Astromech, etc). Also, you can only make medium-sized droids. You can make small droids by clicking on the "Small Character" checkbox in the "Character" tab. But if you want to make larger droids, you'll have to use the "Bonus" tab to input the modifications manually.

Thanks for making this available again and fixing things!

When I try to save it as a Macro-enabled workbook, though, I get a number of conflicts "rename RA1 to _RA1" among others.
Is this OK? (I've used the sheet for years in the past, but only since I switched to Excel 2010 when the old one started giving me trouble

I'm not sure. Try saying "Ok to all" and see if the sheet will still load properly. Let me know if there are any problems.

It seems like it works, but I haven't really exercised it more thoroughly yet.

In Excel 2010 and newer RA1 is now a cell in the sheet. There are a few more variables that would also need to be changed to make the sheet completable with the new version of Excel. All the named variables that are three letters (or less) then numbers will have to be changed so the program is not looking for a cell. I would change them to the same letters with an underscore then the number. Example: RA1 would become RA_1.

This should be done in Excel 2003 before the upgrade to reduce the probability that the sheet will stop working.

I don't even know what RA1 is.

This is such an incredibly useful document. Thanks to everyone who helped make it!  :)
About the only problem I have encountered is with some of the backgrounds not applying to skills correctly, but that is such a minor concern when compared to the scale and utter beauty that is The Saga Sheet.

I noticed on the Sagasheet that if you take Rapid Shot without a prerequisite STR 13, it still allows you to have it but you have a -5 modifier instead of -2. Is this a House Rule, or is there official errata (or rules for that matter) that allows this?

Yes, the official SWSE errata says:
p. 88 – Rapid Shot Feat  Remove the Strength prerequisite from the feat. Add the following sentence to the Special section of the feat: “If you do not have a Strength of 13 or higher, increase the penalty to attacks to -5 when using this feat with non-vehicle weapons.”

Can you describe the problem with the background?
