Welcome to the forums quark12000!

I have played several different Star Wars RPG's over the years, starting in 1989 I think! SAGA is probably the best so far, even though I enjoyed the D6 game as well. Each game has its charm and problems but unless you all want to play a game where you have similar characters I would avoid the newest game. It is actually 3 different games with lots of overlap as far as I understand it.

Then there is the fan made 5E game, I looks good IF you like the system in DnD 5E. To much wizards in space for my liking, but I have yet to actually play the game.

Hi!  I'm quark12000 and I've played Saga Edition before, but I've only recently found the forums and have been getting a lot of help from SteveO and Merc with playing a droid for the first time.  I'm so glad to have found this community.  I'm interested in the latest Star Wars RPG, but my GM has all the books for Saga Edition, so when we play Star Wars, that's what we play, and I really enjoy it.  Happy to be here!

Glad to have you here.  I've got quite a bit of experience with latest SW RPG (from FFG) as well as Saga so I can contrast them if you're interested.

Hi! I made my account back in 2013, then didn't play the game until 2018. After a couple years off, I'm playing it now GMing for my 12 year old son during COVID.

So would this be a "welcome back" situation then?  Nice to see people return to the game.

Hi all,

returning player / GM (mainly RCR but a little bit of SAGA) too  :) . Covid made me dig out my books and start looking for active communities. And voila !

Glad to be here. Lot of useful information / debates.

Welcome back Yen Kaum!
If you want to play online, I recommend SAGA. I did not like some aspects at first, coming from RCR, but now I would never go back. There was slightly more material in RCR, but the ease and the possibilities when making a new character in SAGA is the big point of the system. Also, the game is a lot more interesting when moving around in combat encounters.

Do you know, I've been registered on these forums since 2014 and never actually made this post?

Real Name: Radu
Age: 34
Gender: male
Birthday: Feb 6th
Where I'm from: Bucharest, Romania
Occupation: Engineer
Interests: P&P RPGs (I like system with relatively complex rules, that allow some mechanical character building to happen); Tabletop wargames (currently on hold; between increasing RL responsibilities and a young kid, I've e found no time to play the past few years, so I've sold all my stuff, but I hope I can pick this up again, once my son is old enough to play); off-road driving (I own a small modfied Suzuki Jimny that I use to go off-road with friends).

My group (we are a pretty tight group of 6 RL friends than generally play RPGs together) has been doing Saga on and off since it came out and now we've just started a new Saga campaign after about 3 years of Shadowrun and D&D . Although I wouldn't say it's my favorite system (that would be d&d 3.5), Saga is definitely up there. I love how they managed to blend complexity with new player friendliness. You can spend a week tweaking a character and playing with mechanical options and at the same time, a new guy who joins after having seen some Star Wars and just sticks to not actively making terrible choices won't be completely outclassed.

Howdy everyone! I've been playing Saga (well, DMing saga) for about 4 years now I think, though most of 2020 I had to take off. It makes me glad to see that even though this is a small community, its somewhat active. I'm also active on the subreddit, though I think I'm changing accounts soon to what this username is.

Name: You can call me Steven
Age: 21
Gender:I'm a guy, as far as I can tell
Location:The long lost state of Maine! In the USA.
Birthday: August 26th
Interests: I like most things, though I'm always down to talk about Star Wars, Saga Edition, or any other TTRPG. I love creative writing and even though I get distracted real easily and dont finish my work, I like to think I'm always coming up with new ideas. I dont use forums very often, though I'd like to contribute to this one since I think Saga might be my favorite TTRPG

Greeting to those who have come somewhat recently.

Now young Stoxen you may wish to avoid the name of Steven around here as that is the name of one of the big bullies around here who posts on most everything.   :)    This forum may not move as much as the one on reddit does but I know I prefer the way topics show up here as you can see what's been getting posted to recently (they don't go down that fast) and don't need to follow a bunch of branching discussions.

;D Oh believe me I'm well aware of the man, the myth and the legend who posts on everything in the subreddit. Honestly when I first got there (I'm /u/Alansleeper but I think im gonna switch to just /u/Stoxen soon - I havent posted too much but i do lurk there a lot) I was a little intimidated by how you manage to always post something useful when it comes to the rules.

I have a love hate relationship with how the comments work on reddit, I like how you can clearly see which posts are replies to the parent comments, but when youre 15 replies deep it gets annoying. And theres a lot of wasted space.

I've used the Saga Continues Files for a while now, but since Reddit seems to be down I decided I might as well pop over here and join the community. I hope theres some kind of uptick though, in players i mean, cause I'd hate to see this game "die".
