galaxy map
« on: June 04, 2015, 09:08:30 am »
hi
i am looking for a star wars galaxy map. one that wouldn't use all the ink in my printer. all the maps i find are very dark so they would use a lot of ink. if you got something like a black and white map were the planets and names are black and the background is white that would be perfect. thank you

Something else to consider if you don't want to eat up the ink, would be to have your map printed at Staples or Office Depot...some people may wrinkle their nose at printing like that like as it pertains to copyright violation, but if you're printing it at home, then to hell with it.

However, that being said, a lot of times you can get things printed there for pretty cheap (assuming you don't want to burn through ink at home)...plus, you can get it printed on larger paper, and laminated.

Just something to consider at least :)

There you go.

It's not bad although it is sparsely populated especial when I compare it the version seen in the Star Wars Atlas.  I know, that atlas can be information overload but I consider it a great piece for an expanded RPG library as there is just so much fluff in it and the crunch is pretty universal.

If you can find a map you like you may be able to lighten it up a bunch running it through a photo editor and taking the Negative image of it.  That should turn black to white and vise-versa.  If your map is full of blues they may not turn to white but they should still turn a lighter color and if you print in B&W you may lose that.

Now if we're talking galaxy maps has anyone seen a good, high quality, digital map that may use the Atlas map as a guide?  Now that I've broke down and finally gotten a tablet computer I find it a great way to hold on to various reference materials without taking up a bunch of space.

I just ran a Goggle search for "star wars galaxy map white background" and that map I linked was the first that popped up. It was early morning and I used my phone. Its a very simple map, yes, but it does cover the major planets in the galaxy and marks the clusters and places like Corporate, Hutt, and Hapan space.

I see.  Just doing the basic legwork that can often answer questions before they are even asked.  I guess I can find the BIG PDF map that way as well but there would be a lot more sorting to do.
