The Holonet / It's nice to see this website still thriving
« on: July 19, 2022, 05:08:56 am »
Hello All.

I know, its been like 3000 years since I've been around. I been living life, doing stupid stuff, and watching Star Wars turn into what we have today

I just wanted to come in and just say thanks. Thanks for taking the idea a few of us had from the WOTC forums and keep it going for almost 9 years now!. Crazy. Bravo.

I love for Saga has never died, just very subdued. Plus, life the last few years has been different for me as I bet it has been for everyone.

So, once again. Thank you. Nice to know this site is here. I wish you all the absolute best and I'll try to lurk more often. See you around anniversary time at the very least!

(Queue Palpi laugh here)

I'm expecting the biggest slap to the face for SW fans since Jar Jar came on screen on Ep. 1

We have Palpi back, a space battle that like like someone just photo-shopped a million random SW spacecraft on the screen, and the very late arrival of the Knights of Ren (to just name a few of the WTF stuff seen so far)

Dont know if anyone saw the same rumors I did on Youtube, but I guess the initial screenings of Ep 9 went so horrible, Disney bass had ol'Georgie boy come in and try to fix it. Guess in the original cut, Rey basically B-slaps Palp and hes dead for good. Kathy was also rumored to be on the chopping back for the original screening. There were 3 versions in all: The orginial JJ/Kathy cut, Disney cut, and then a George cut. The George cut had the best reviews. This is all rumors, but hes a link if you want to watch

Spoiler: Rumor Link (hover to show)

Now I'm hear the ending has been leaked.... we have 22 days until its release, oh will this be fun

It seems to me there was quite a bit of name dropping in there.  I can recall hearing Bossk and Aura Sing mentioned.  I'm probably just blanking on a bunch of other names I probably should know.

The funny thing is they name dropped a few bounty hunters but only referred to Jabba as a new high time gangster on Tatooine. Only reason I could see was they wanted to keep the timeline murky.

@FTJ: Play SWTOR if you want to see a bit more of how Corellia can be. Not quite movie realist CGI, but you get the same feel it gave in the movie.

Saw it opening night. I enjoyed it. Donald Glover was brilliant as Lando. The acting all around was good. Felt like Ron Howard made a mark when they upgraded into him as the director. The whole Kessel run seems a bit too fast paced. Emilia Clarke's Kira character path was the only real shocker to me, but I saw seeds of her actions at the end throughout the movie. She has serious training in Teras Kasi, wonder if she might be FS......

The Maul thing was the only thing I honestly hated, but this is the new Disney canon, they can retcon whatever they please (unless the movie's timeline is before Rebels, where they did kill the bastard off finally we thought)

Korr listens to Valkin, knowing he just has to go with the flow at this point. "Stealth it is then. We don't really have much time to argue then. Let's get this done right."

I'm not felling that guy as Han Solo..

Uncomfirmed reported state that they had to get the guy playing Han a acting coach because his delivery was terrible. He's a newer actor. Not everyone can be as decent as Daisy was as Rey as a rookie.

Korr listens to Phram's rather interesting plan "I have roughly 50k, but I'm with Valkin here, it takes time to secure the men. Credits gets you a lot, but a roundup of every able bodied person willing to shot anything that they can it will not do quickly enough. We coulsnt even scare up a quick Republic team fast enough. Too much paperwork." Korr says, rubbing his chin in thought as he looks at the crude map "What about a three pointed approach. Valkin and I, with his Mando team do a frontal assault. We can take much of the fire the best. Phram, take the rest of the team save for Joro, and the Howlrunners and hit the top. Joro does as you asked and brings a violent distraction from the bottom. The Sith will be forced to divide his forces." Korr says, thinking about the bigger picture. Then a old thought hit him  "Also, what about that that team of mercs that we fought in orbit, didnt we ending up hiring them as extra hands? Now would be the time to call them in."

This cleans up a bit of how Rey and others could get strong Force abilities out of nowhere

Korr considered the words. Until Cay and Dorn spoke up, Korr misunderstood Joro's intent. "He wants to get himself caught. Oh the young and their unique plans..." Korr thinks to himself. With a direct distraction not in the cards, Korr decides yield to Phram's decisions. "Very well Joro, your fate is in your Master's hands now, as it should be. I'll be part of the main assault group. "

"Joro trying to adept, maybe the Bothan is learning something from Phram after all" Korr thought after listening to Joro's last ditch effort. Korr replies "Yes, Blaze's report he gave me detailed his observations on your ability to phase through walls. That's a rare Force talent. However, we dont need to sneak around if we are trying to make a scene out there. "

What Korr didnt add is that Blaze's report also added what happened after Joro used phase on the Inferno, and the aftermath where Phram nearly died. Korr wasnt going to give up his only card left in the deck. No, he had to make sure Joro was sound and the only way to do it was to help him with the distraction. Threatening him wasnt enough, not when Valkin is there to play bodyguard.

Korr added "Regardless, I'm helping you with whatever crazy plan you have. You'll like my ability to break stuff should it get bad out there."

Anakin: Little boy that had MC levels off the chart. He was the choose one. He had decades of training. Hes a Force badass.

Luke: Obi-Wan taught him to use a lightsaber against a training droid. He "uses the Force" to help twin photon torps down a tube, untrained. Other then that, he went the entire Episode Iv to V without training, often just picking up whatever. Self trained. Yoda gave him some very basic training then he ran off, fought big daddy, almost died. Found Obi-Wan's journal and teaches himself more Force bull. The man is self trained. He reads and does.

Rey: Doesn't even know shes Force sensitive until 60% through TFA. Was able the resist a memory walk and repel it. Used a mind trick without knowing how she did it. Used a lightsaber vs Kylo like shes been doing it her entire life. TLJ just gives her superpowers because they could.

Why, because Disney likes magic and that is what the Force is folks now.Why they do that? because their isnt any formal instructors anymore. Luke is gone, Snoke is gone, Kylo just likes the deep dark and honest too unstable to teach. Luke taught her only one thing, how to open herself to the Force. Its Raw power. Its like Wonder Woman at the beginning of her movie. Its this new world of "You have power within you you dont even know is there" Its a appeasement to the women overlords. Rey is stupid powerful because shes a strong independent women and she diont need no man to teach her. lololololololololol

But seriously its Disney at its finest. Force = Magic now. Training is for stupid boys. All the woman in the SWU are just badasses.

I've been reading these "fixing" posts about TLJ. Here is what I read. Instead of letting the movie stand as a movie, what is happening is you all treating this likes a damn documentary on Star Wars that got everything wrong. It's a fantasy universe. Yes it not the original Canon and that is all but raping your minds right now buy remember it's a damned movie. Luke is gone. Get over it. Rey is strong AF in the Force for reasons, get it over it. Poe can outfly point defense turrets, get over it. Kylo Ren is the same whiny sob, it's sucks but get over it. Smoke matter not one damned bit, get over it.

Just let the movie be what it is. **** or not, you cannot fix it. Waste of time. TLJ isn't some supplement for Saga we can just change to suit us. It's official Canon. Stop treating like it's part of the game.

Valkin's charm never seems  to disappoint. Korr doesnt even blink as he thinks on Valkin's actual question "Well if we need the perfect distraction, I'm probably the largest bait. A couple of anonymous calls and I could have the entire area hunting for me. ..." Korr sees a way out of the pistol in his face and continues

"...If not that exactly, then I volunteer to escort Joro on his plan. Someone gotta keep him alive, and while its Phram's job normally, his skills will be needed in the base more. As long as Joro doesnt try to ditch me like yesterday, we should have fun kriffining with the poor Sith"

I've said enough on this subject. Love it or hate it, its what we have now. I dont need another thing to feel hatred towards when the IRL world around us is quite disguising and in major trouble.

May the Force be with you always
