The apprentice shrugs, then nods. "I'm going to be making a lot of this up on the fly. Hopefully some additional information will tie up the loose ends. Let's get this done quickly."

Joro turned back to the doorway and waited. He still looked antsy: small trembles impossible to hide. Moments later the lights kicked back into regular mode and electronic 'whirrrrrrrrrs' filled the air. The sealing mechanisms and industrial strength locks shifted, retracting in short order with heavy hisses and clunks. The outside world lay on the other side, the world they were now fighting to save. Joro took a deep breath and grabbed the handle, stepping into the eternal twilight of the cityscape beyond.

Later...

"Sewers like this are such a maze," the bothan grunted as they began to back track to the surface, "Are you sure you'll be able to handle yourselves down here? I knew places to lay low back before my training began, but none of those places were the sewer systems...There are scaly things down here."

The trek back took little time but it felt like the tunnels stretched for miles in every direction. Joro looked increasingly nervous but, to his credit, he kept his thoughts and feelings to himself. It would do little good to panic now when the team needed him most. He shushed the "little beast" -as master Boshar called it- constantly and forced himself to walk the path back to the the twilight ahead of the group, hooded head low and silent. Finally, they made it back topside.

Joro turned to the team members that had followed him and nodded, unfolding his arms from the warn jedi clothes of the sith ship. One hand raised, he waited for the one holding the key to pass it along. "Don't worry," he told the scientist as the modifications to the root access system were finalized, "as long as they place this into the system and you have that secondary key in your hands...the force will guide us to victory."

The scientist, who'd worked diligently as they marched through the sewers, hesitated now that the full weight of what they were about to do descended on him. He hesitated in handing over the key, leading to long, awkward pause. For a moment Joro believed he was going to refuse...but another moment later, the altered key was placed into his outstretched hand.

The Holonet / Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story Official Thread **SPOILERS**

Can we acknowledge the sound track sounds like it will be really good?

CRAP! Another one bites the dust?? I was getting into playing up my droid.

7
Okay so IIRC, the key we need is still located down in a sewer...So we need to get that before splitting up for this attack, correct? Can we fast forward that part at all? Or is it vital for moving forward in the story.

Joro heaved an equally relieved and terrified sigh. "Yay...Go team."

Shortly after...

'SSSilly little bothan, ssseeking out massster'sss approval...you know there'sss no good outcome for usss in thisss.'

'Don't. Just...Be quiet. I won't be swayed.'

The lockdown was about to lift. All the solace and short lived comfort of the safe house was going to end and they would be exposed to the savages pounding at the Republic's gate. Joro fidgeted with something in his hands and slowly paced, trying not to think on what was about to happen to him, and how much the mission depended on it. The object, it seemed, was actually two. In one hand he held the broken communicator, staring in frustration at the **** screen. The other hand held the holocron. His thumb traced over the edges and grooves of its surface and traced the cool light emitted from its center. The tension practically rolled off of him. In his mind, waiting was the worst part. Being in the middle of the fight, running for your life, constant movement...these were the easy parts because he could let the force and his instincts guide him...but now, at this moment, he only had his thoughts to keep him company.

"Master...Would it be inappropriate of me to want a drink about now?" Joro queried as he nervously shook his head and tried to calm himself. "Jedi are not supposed to be emotional because it clouds judgement...but I could use some liquid courage."

That was quite a statement considering Joro actively avoided alcohol in its many forms. He'd even been vocal about it during most of his jedi and shadow indoctrination. 'Too much of a reminder of a past life and past sins', he claimed. Now, it seemed, he was thinking on old habits.

Hey droid, your first off the ramp. Be a good distraction for the rest of us. Theodan was always a bit uncountable with how aware droids were, and he didn't want to risk this droid needlessly, but after the hanger he was not going to get in front of the droid if he could help it.

Dee rotated his boxy head back to Theodan and nodded. "Rrrrrroger roger."

The hollow, metallic whine of charging  capacitors, servos and motors, surrounded the droid. As soon as the ramp opened Dee shot out like a bullet. He wasn't the fastest model but moving in a straight line would allow him to scan and send information back to the team. He zoomed across the terrain kicking up a trail of dust behind his whirring treads.

"Zcanning...Zcanning-ing-ing...Zcanning..."

Joro quietly cleared his throat, suddenly appearing a tad embarrassed. He'd forgotten to let the team know. "I...er...already contacted them. They're coming soon."

"Time is not on our side. We'd be better off inciting a mob, or stirring up the crime families that have our names on lists to come and...to..." Joro blinked. Something about the conversation made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. He shifted his body to fully face Valkin. "...I'm sorry...Did you just say...what I think you said?"

Joro held up his hand as Dorn inhaled to speak, motioning with his finger to wait.

"After the way things have gone I'm honestly not surprised there was some crude thermonuclear option in the Republic's hand...but twelve hours from now, a large portion of this planet is automatically going to be destroyed by a Republic fleet? As in...regardless of our success or failure at that time?" Joro blinked again and popped his neck. "Are you telling us right now that, had we been delayed for some unforeseeable reason...Say, oh I don't know, a hypersapce malfunction...or interrogation of the Sith Lord we failed to apprehend after the ambush...or any of the disasters we've dealt with...the Republic was...is... going to blindly unleash a firestorm on this planet and burn a crater into the surface?"

11
Oh im sure but iys just coming out now. Joro has a reason to be pissed about that, regardless of if he thought there was a spy. That means there was a time limit since the beginning...meaning if they been overly delayed this bombardment would have happened anyway.

That...isn't good.

Edit: Yeah the more I thought about it, the more I realized how angry it makes Joro feel. Like, unproportionally angry. I can't even really justify why in my head canon yet...but I think he's about to be livid in a very intense way.

12
So i just reread what Valkin said. We have 12 hours before the planet gets a concentrated bombardment?

This sounds bad and also feels like a very bad surprise. I shall react accordingly when i can post tonight.

13
Nice. Now all we need to get is the actual Key and for the group to make final prep. The force shall guide us.

14
Damn! Three levels to this beast and the scientist isn't even sure its all accurate.  :P ::)

Have fun feeling better about ANY plan with that in mind Sienn.

Spoiler: changing transponder codes (hover to show)

The rickety sound of Dee's metal treads on the ship's deck sounded in reply. He pulled up to the com terminal and (after finding a way to bypass the stupid chair) produced a scomp link. It would take twenty minutes in his estimation.

"Affirrrmative-ive-ive."
