Heck, it's to the point where I don't even bother with what's canon or not. I just enjoy what I like and ignore what I don't.

If you're trying to game either you let canon completely tie your hands or you just figure you're going to be creating some kind of "different timeline" unless of course nothing you do actually runs into the canon you're currently trying to play.

Definitely. The game I'm currently GMing is my own alternate era, set a thousand years or so before The Phantom Menace. No canon whatsoever. It makes GMing a lot easier: I can do whatever I like without worrying about infringing on canon events.

On the flip side, I do have to make up mostly everything, so that's a lot of extra work, haha.

That's kinda the big beef everyone has with the new trilogy: the directors haven't even tried to cover up the fact that they're just remaking the original trilogy in their own image. The prequel series had a ton of flaws, but at least it was original.

Terribly sorry everyone, I've been pretty busy in real life lately. I do indeed wish to test my Sith Lord against you lot of veterans, but I'm too busy currently to do so. Sorry again, I know I called the next encounter and then failed to show up when this one was over.

Star Wars Saga Edition General / Re: Episode III Infinities

With Palpatine dead, I can't see Anakin lasting very long. I imagine Yoda and Obi-Wan would prioritize hunting him down. Heck, with Palpatine out of the picture, the two of them may even be able to turn him back to the light. If Anakin wants to survive as a Sith, I think he'll need to go into hiding. It's possible that Padmé will go with him (I mean, she didn't leave him when he first confessed to mass murder, so why would she leave him now?). This might create a very interesting situation where Luke and Leia are trained as Sith by their father, though as Anakin has had hardly any Sith training before Palpatine died, I wonder how powerful he and his children would actually become in the Dark Side. Maybe they'd end up on the level of Dark Jedi rather than true Sith.

The Empire had been declared, at most, a few days before Palpatine's death. I can't imagine any big changes being made to the Republic in that time. With Palpatine dead, I think the Empire would end up still born, quickly reverting back to the Republic.

The big question is the clones. Who are they loyal to now? Did Palpatine even appoint a successor that they should obey after him? I can see him being egomaniacal enough to not care what happens after his death. It's possible he appointmented Anakin as the next in line, but even with clone protection he's going to die to Yoda and Obi-Wan unless he goes into hiding (Yoda got to Palpatine just fine even with the entire clone army guarding him). If the clones don't have a leader anymore, are they still going to try and hunt down the Jedi and uphold the Empire, following their last orders? It's possible there could be a movement started by Obi-Wan and Yoda to retake the Republic from the army, ending up in a civil war/revolution by the Republic against clone military rule. Maybe Anakin is in charge, but has to give orders from a hidden base, leading to a reverse of roles: the clone army led by the Dark Siders ends up in the position of the Rebellion, trying to over throw the galactic government led by two Jedi. Bail Organa might be a good candidate for the new Chancellor, or maybe the role of Chancellor has too much stigma associated with it now, and the Republic reverts to a more democratic structure with limited central leadership.

My final thought is the Jedi Order. Yoda and Obi-Wan are certainly going to try and rebuild it, perhaps with some changes in philosophy. It'd definitely start small, much more like Luke's Jedi Academy from the EU, with a more intimate structure akin to a family rather than a large monastic order.

^_^ Thanks, it's good to be back.  The whole hullabaloo over TLJ (I'm not a fan) kinda got me back into Star Wars (I never really left, just got distracted with other franchises).

Funny, I basically had the exact same experience. Hadn't done any Saga for a few years, but the new trilogy got me back into Saga, and now I'm running a campaign through Facebook with some friends. Forgot what I was missing out on!

It's great seeing the old names again!  RobShanti, oh and so many others.  I forgot I used to use that picture of Errol Flynn as my avatar.

Hey, it's great to see you posting again, Zhen. You're one of the old names yourself, you know. Plenty of those builds on the Non-Star Wars Characters thread are yours.

Sure thing! I'd like everyone to play something close to the PCs I currently have in my campaign, but they're only at level 1 and 2 ATM, so there'll be plenty of room for creativity.

FaxDendor's sandbox idea, as I understand it, is more about giving a GM a place to test out encounters that full out campaigns.  Sounds to me like YOU should just come up with the scenario and ask who'd like to take a swipe at your Sith Lord.  I'm not sure how big that encounter would be (seems to me that should start as soon as you'd get close and would probably be some kind of dungeon crawl before actually facing the SL) but you probably have some idea of why level/strength (the two aren't always the same) PCs you'd expect to face.

Excellent points StevenO: I'd forgotten the first point of this was for the GM to test put his scenario. Sorry, you're totally right: I'll hold off on throwing a monkey wrench into the works.

That said, I would like to take StevenO's advice and come up with an encounter based around my BBEG that anyone here could play against. If that's fine with the OP, I'd like to get in line for GMing the next encounter once the current one is finished.

I'd like to test out the ultimate BBEG for the capaign I'm currently running. She's a Zeltron Sith Lord, level 20, focused almost completely on mind manipulation via the Force (Illusion, Mind Trick, Perfect Telepathy, etc.). I realize a battlefield may not be the best place for her to shine, but I'd still like to try her out and see what she can do in a slugfest. If you're okay with me jumping in on this encounter, awesome, if not, I can just wait for the next one.

Though I can't seem to access all the pages of the Non-Star War Builds thread....

I did look through the contest section, but I couldn't find anything. The one thread was full of non Star Wars characters that had been given Saga Edition builds/stats, and the other was just a thread for anyone to post their Sith Lord builds in.

Thanks for the Wayback Machine suggestion, I'll check it out and see if I can find anything.

The ones I'm specifically thinking of are the Post Your Sith Lords Here thread and the Non Star Wars Saga Builds thread (I'm just paraphrasing the thread names from memory). Did they get lost back when Wizards took a superlaser to the SERPG boards? Or am I just too dense to find them here? I tried the search function but came up dry....
