This movie is the exact opposite of the prequels. The prequels were very plot-driven, which is why a lot of people found them boring and unemotional. Force Awakens is entirely character driven. What little story it has is very confusing and underdeveloped. The movie is entirely focused on the emotions these characters go through.
I'd give it 3.5/5

Fair enough.
I'm not a fan of most ratings system either where they have a "range" of 1-10 but consider an 8 "average" and anything below that room for improvement. Don't really agree with all of Diceling's scores to me episode 6 is my favorite but I'd agree with the general 4, 5 and 7 ones they're all pretty much that close for me too.

On a scale of 1 to 7 with 1 being the worst and 7 being the best how does this movie rate compared to the others?
Note: Total rating of all movies should equal 28 points or an average of 4 points. None of this "top marks across the board" BS.
I like this, here's my two cents.
Episode I: 1.5 (Liam Neeson being the one redeeming factor of this horrible, horrible movie)
Episode II: 2 (There's some mystery and exploration, which I like, but I can't stand the "love" story)
Episode III: 3 (Okay movie, but Hayden Christensen's orrible acting irks me enough to frown at the sight of this movie)
Episode IV: 5.5 (The start of our SW journey: mystery, excitement)
Episode V: 6 (The, I think, best movie of all seven)
Episode VI: 4.5 (Great conclusion of that part of the Saga, shaving off some score for the ewoks)
Episode VII: 5.5 (A true sequel to the OT, feels like Star Wars in a way that, to me, NT never did)

Hmmmm compared to the others I'd probably say a 4-5. Definately better than 1 and 2, probably a bit better than 3 although I suspect that's going to come down to personal taste on some things there was enough in it I personally didn't like I'd put it around 3 but someone who liked those things would rate it better. As for the originals . . proably same as 4, bit worse than 5 and 6. Of course that's just my personal ratings. If you mean rate in terms of movie rank i.e. movie 1-7 with 1 being the worst and 7 the best mine would go . . .
...
Surprised this got moved to the holonet as the general forum description say's "The place for all non-specifically-rules-related discussion of Saga. (ex: character concepts, adventure ideas, contests, resource documents, or off-topic stuff like the new SW movies (or the old ones))" but I suppose its not part of the saga movies and forum admin's decision is the ruling decision.
While I didn't want them all to be 4-7 on a scale of 1-7 I'd be happy with numbers like 5, 4.5, 5.5 instead of something like 4, 5, 6. That makes it more relative if you want to say things are closer to even. Not a complaint but just an opinion; I hate places where they think anything less that a 5 on scale of 1-5 is horrible!
I suspect the big bossman moved it down here because it isn't exactly game related and more like general Star Wars news. Now game relevant stuff can/should probably go back to the general forum although keeping the "spoiler" or "Force Awakens/FA" tag with them could be nice. I'm afraid I won't have time to see it this weekend and really prefer afternoon matinees during the week instead when the crowds aren't as big.

It's true that the forum description says what you quoted (we should probably change the forum descriptions for clarity). I believe the reason for the move is that we already started an Episode 7 discussion thread in the Holonet, so for the sake of consistency, Episode 7 movie-related topics got moved to the Holonet. In fact, there is a second, newly-formed topic regarding those who have seen Episode 7 and want to discuss it, so this thread may get merged with it, just to give you a heads-up.

1: Movie 6.
2: Movie 5.
3: Movie 4
4: Movie 7.
5: Movie 3.
6: Movie 1.
7: Movie 2.
7 loses out to the first 3 simply because of personal taste decisions movie wise and impartial it could easily be above 4 and possibly 5 I think 6 is the best overall even trying to be impartial.

Right now it has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes so I'm excited.

Not a bad movie all up, some nice effects and the plot was fairly consistent. A few things I didn't like but that's personal taste and I suspect at least one person on these forums would like the things I didn't and vice versa. A few other things I'd like to mention but I can't be sure they wouldn't give away something I shouldn't so I'll conclude with I don't feel I wanted my money but I haven't seen enough to judge how well Disney as a franchise owner will do.
Anyone posting a response just limit to what you thought in general terms let's not risk spoiling it for those yet to see it.
