GN-R53, "Jeanie"
The Portable Know-it-all

GN-R53 (or Jeanie) is a NPC droid, currently owned by Cain Armon. She is installed in his customized Jedi Battle Armor and aids him during his missions for Krayt Squad. She's encyclopedic in Galactic Lore and technology as well as highly versed with Mechanics and Computer use. Equipped with a miniaturized Sensor pack, she is also highly skilled in tracking, observing and monitoring.

Atielans Droid Emporium
Providing Droid companions at resonable prices since 15 BBY

A00-C47, aka Double-Oh-Zee
The unexpected Spy
Cost: 14000 credits (10825)

This nifty litte droid is a spy's best friend. No, let me change that: they're a spy's best colleague! Designed specifically to mimic the appearance and behaviour of the MSE-6 repair droid, this marvel of ingenuity sports a heuristic processor, hovering capabilities and enough technical savvy to rival most Outer Rim slicers. Once deployed into hostile territory, this little fella can receive and interpret commands via its build-in comlink, access computer terminals, download information and much, much more. Afraid of it being spotted, nonsnse. This little guy is trained to avoid detection and can fool most inspection if, however unlikely, discovered. Dismayed with its small stature and limited reach? Not a problem: with advanced hovering locomotion and magna-lock, this testament to genius engineering can reach almost any terminal or computer.

Buy it now and vanquish your enemies tomorrow! Yours for only 14000 credits. Financing available!

G2-EH, aka Gee-Two
The talkative Mechanic
Cost: 8000 credits (6220)

This droid is the staple of any real ship repair crew. Forget the collapsible pit droid: they cause more havoc and damage than they repair. The G2, especially this G2 is the droid you want fixing your ship! Whether deployed aboard your cruiser, tinkering and fixing with the internal systems or serving in your hangar bay, they will deliver! Yes, they are a bit talky sometimes: that's why I've installed a switch on their vocabulator, but they're also fast, reliable and know what they're doing.

The wobbliness that usually comes with this model is a thing of the past: see those crawler wheels? That's the same type of locomotion used on the Jawa Sandcrawlers: nothing's more stable! Another little something that I've added is the Sensor Link: these droids actually work better the more of them you have, as they are programmed to collaborate and work together! And for the reasonable price of 8000 credits a pop, they will certainly give you your money's worth!

Modified Heavy Blaster Rifle (7100 cr)]
Base: DLT-20a Heavy Blaster Rifle (1300 cr)
- Targeting scope (standard)
- Rangefinder (standard)
- Superior Tech: Superior Accuracy (2000 cr)
- Dual Gear, Ion Rifle (1 eq slot / 1000 cr)

Dual geared Ion Rifle
Base: Ion Rifle (800 cr)
- Superior Damage (2000 cr)

This looks great, but there is a small problem.
The dual geared Ion Rifle is actually a part of the DLT-20a Blaster Rifle, so the Ion Rifle can't have a upgrade. This is to prevent dasychaining items. The Ion Rifle can't even benefit from the upgrade to the Blaster Rifle; this last part makes little to no sense to me though.

Now that you mention it,  I think I've heard something similar to that before. I mean, one of the two would make sense: either the IR is completely a part of the DLT (and would thus get the benefit from Sup. Acc) or it's considered an attachment and would be eligible for its own set of upgrades. I can't seem to find any RAW material on the subject, though. Do you know of any?

I always allowed applying the upgrades to the whole system
So in this case it would give the ion gun superior accuracy as well as the dlt-20a

The Dual Gear upgrade seems simple enough at first. But it gets more complicated when you try to find out the weight and other stats of the component items. There is a partial answer in the Official FAQ. There is a copy on this site: http://thesagacontinues.createaforum.com/general-discussion/official-faq-compilation-thread/

Take a look at question 92:

Download the Official FAQ & Errata Compilation Thread PDF!

Q92: Can I add an upgrade to an item being Dual Geared into another item via the Upgrade rules from Scum and Villainy?

A: No. When you Dual Gear an item, the second, smaller item is an upgrade in its own right (rather than an actual item) and thus has no upgrade slots of its own with which to upgrade. [SOURCE]

a DTL-20A has a rangefinder/scope combo on it already, its why it just a fantastic rifle. To me, this is standard equipment, and should not count as its upgrade slot used for the rangefinder.

Upgrading for me if adding on to whatever is current part of shock item

That makes sense, in my mind. I guess I'll have to ask the DM.

Thank you! That's very helpful. It makes sense, I guess.

I agree: it comes standard with the weapon and should not be counted against the rifles upgrade slots. I just put them in the description for convenience/clarity.
