Exactly what I want, a lightsaber that will cut my own hand off.
And we're still fighting the Empire 30 years later? No, the only logical explanation is that my Thrawn theory is correct. The timeline's been pushed back due to age of the original cast, but this is Thrawn: The Movie.
The 30 year timeline makes that kinda difficult to impossible. Are we going to show Thrawn come back after 30 years and find all of these convenient cloning tubes and lost fleets sitting around in order to be a threat? That's going to happen pretty fast in a movie. Is Thrawn just going to have been around all this time? Is the opening crawl going to be along the lines of:
"So you know how at the end of Returns the rebellion won and the evil empire was destroyed?
Yeah well that didn't actually work out like this so we are basically in a pretty similar situation
from where you left off. Except now everyone is old and our Director was bored of this movie before filming began."
And what about all of the characters? The characters who become main characters and the next generation? Are we just not going to do them? Are we going to have them in name only? Aghh I really don't like this. I realize that JJ Abrams is probably one of the better directors we could have hoped for. Certainly the Star Trek remakes were much better Star Wars movies than Star Trek movies. But JJ is one to come up with projects, not see them through. And I fear the same level of source bastardization that the Star Trek movies had.
I just do not like this at all.
