Marked spoilers, cause there probably will be at some point in here.

First teaser dropped during the Superbowl yesterday.

If the teaser trailer is a spoiler then we are already all doomed!

Hahaha, well, I figured we'd end up talking about things like the other threads, so wanted to give a fair warning. Although, I suppose the teaser could be a spoiler, from a certain point of view.

Here's an actual trailer for ya, so this one is probably more spoilery than the other, since these things tend to be.

I'm not felling that guy as Han Solo. I wish they would have done a Rogue Squadron movie climaxing at the Battle of Jakku.

Uncomfirmed reported state that they had to get the guy playing Han a acting coach because his delivery was terrible. He's a newer actor. Not everyone can be as decent as Daisy was as Rey as a rookie.

To be fair, Harrison, Carrie, and Mark weren't really known (from what I can see) before becoming overnight sensations with IV. Harrison was in American Graffiti, and a few other things in the 60's. But none of them really seemed to be known or have any real experience at the time of filming.

That being said, I'm more neutral than anything else regarding Alden Ehrenreich as Han. And for some reason, this is the first trailer for a Star Wars movie that didn't get me excited about the movie. Still, probably just the trailer we have, so I'll wait and see what else we get.

After Ron Howard insulted everyone who criticized TLJ, he lost me as a ticket sale. So I'm just going to read/watch spoiler reviews and eventually catch Solo on TV.

Wait, he did what? I haven't been keeping up with this movie. There was so much stuff coming out that I lost any interest in it. At least, insofar as the production side. Lost, what, 3 directors?

He basically passive-aggressively echoed the initial Lucasfilm propaganda about TLJ, which was that the mediocre audience score on RT was just from trolls, not people who actually bought tickets to see the movie. I was steamed about that. But it's not like I want Solo to fail. I want to enjoy it when I eventually see it, but my overall issues with Disney and other factors are just really driving me away from paying full price.

Ah, OK. Yeah, didn't know that. And it all sort of echos Ghostbusters 2k16 to me. Obviously not as bad, as the House of Mouse is smart enough not to let the directors   pull that crap without backlash, but still. I doubt it will get anywhere near that level of vitriol and what not, but I'll just stay the course and hope it turns out OK.

I mean, hey, my biggest complaints with Rogue One was that some thing seemed to just be there for no other reason, and that the first 15 or so minutes is just jumping around like crazy without letting anything sit for more than a minute or so. Otherwise, was a pretty decent movie.

Can we acknowledge the sound track sounds like it will be really good?
I like my heroes human, flawed and beatable. And failing every so often.
Bingo. Z33B, you really know where your towel is.

The soundtracks are always amazing. Of that, I don't think anyone would disagree.

I know I said I wouldn't see it, but how could I skip Therm Scissorpunch?

Short review: the best Disney Star Wars movie yet, especially for gamers as it's basically a rpg adventure. If you're on the fence, I recommend you go see it.

L3-37 is a horrible character, but redeemed in a way. At least her side quest isn't nearly as bad as Canto Bight. The rest of the movie is good times. I wish we could've seen more of Corellia, but all in all, this movie is a solid 7/10.

I know I gave Rogue One a 9/10 initially, but in truth it's only the battle of Scarif that's a 9/10. The rest of Rogue One is pretty average, whereas Solo to me remained consistent throughout (with the exception of L3-37).

Agreed.

I actually liked L3-37's spunky fembot bravado, originally thinking it might have been Gwendoline Christie (Cpt Phasma) doing her voice (but was not). Chewie got lots of screen time, luckily, and it was like falling in love with that shaggy wookie all over again. While my initial appraisal of the actor playing Han was unfavorable, I'll retract all grumbling and say I am glad they got him to do it.

Crimson Dawn ... all I can say is WOW, talk about surprised. I think my next campaign will be a crimson dawn themed story set directly after the Solo movie.

Ron Howard did a FANtastic job. The overall look seems more closely appropriate to segue into the Original Trilogy than even Rogue One (which is still my favorite, but Solo might be a close second).

Minimal complaints. A few "lucky" saves, and the train heist scene botherd me a little. Like, why was fuel in only one train car, why were there so many train cars that seemed to be empty? Anyway... little things aside, I'd highly recommend.

I feel strangely about the movie.  Pretty much nothing wrong with it but for some reason I wasn't all that excited by it either.  Chewie's intro wasn't what I envisioned but aside from that the only thing that had me going "WHAT!" was the Darth Maul reveal.  I really hate to say it but I may have enjoyed some of the trailers as much.

Neither Corellia or Kessel was really was I was expecting.

It seems to me there was quite a bit of name dropping in there.  I can recall hearing Bossk and Aura Sing mentioned.  I'm probably just blanking on a bunch of other names I probably should know.
