Seems like Chopper going to be the best part of Rebels by far

http://www.starwars.com/video/star-wars-rebels-the-machine-in-the-ghost-short

I can probably make the same noises with a roll of socks in my mouth.

Anyway, if he is going to be the best thing about Rebels, that's a sad statement.

It will be fine; there are other good characters, just seems Chopper will be the one that needs the least refinement.

You can make a passable R2-D2 with a touch-tone phone and a few police-style sounds. Everyone like R2, why should Chopper be any different?

No other droid will ever achieve the epic awesomeness that is R2-D2.

Agreed. One thing that we can say: R2-D2 carried most of the prequel movies. Remember going to opening night for Episode 2, packed crowd, cheering or booing everything they liked and hated. Other then Yoda busting out his lightsaber for the time time on screen and the duel that followed, R2-D2's flying around with his new jet boosters got the most cheers of that night.

Not to mention he was a stud in the Original Trilogy. I like when Yoda repeatedly whacked him with a his stick when he was trying to take away something... I can't remember... some food? Also, didn't R2 zap an Ewok at one point? I have this image of an Ewok jumping around at R2's electro-shocks... or was it a Jawa.... ?

I think I need to rewatch the OT.

1) it was food, twinkets, tech
2) After R2-D2 was untied following the C-3PO floating in mid-air, Force trick by Luke scene, R2 starts to zap random ewoks in his way as payback

Return was a good movie for R2, he was the uber cool undercover servant droid, hiding Luke's lightsaber like a boss, even being a bartender.

New web short for Rebels, this time featuring Sabine, the young Mandalorian of the team. It's quite funny. This will be a fun character on the show

Here is the 1st short featuring Chooper, with Hera and Kanan for those that didnt see it

Yet another Rebels short came out, this time starring Zeb. This guy is crazy good and gave me a awesome character idea.

I'm suprised nobody has posted this yet. It's all over the 'net. Especially blowing up my Facebook dashboard.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: This movie is going to make serious cash and we will get multiple more movies. Regardless of it being 'trash' or not, it's going to happen. And I am going to watch them. At least from my home, movies are too expensive. But DVD's aren't too bad.

Gotta say, I'm pretty excited for this stuff. My only hopes are two things: 1) They don't treat it like the new Star Trek films. 2) Disney doesn't turn it into the Marvel series. I'll spare you long winded rants, suffice to say I am miffed with how they have done things. I still have high hopes, though. I mean, come on! They built a life size 1:1 scale Millennium Falcon!

So I watched the first episode of the Clone Wars Utapau arc on starwars.com and it's pretty good, aside from Anakin being an OBVIOUS dark side bully and Kenobi just shrugging it off. Goes into more detail about Utapau's civilization. Worth a look.

Some interesting lore is hinted at in the final episode of this Utapau arc. Apparently there's a Yavin Convention that governs treatment of prisoners of war, but most people don't remember it because it's a thousand years old. Also, legends from the olden days describe superweapons powered by massive kyber crystals (gigantic versions of the crystals used in lightsabers).
