Ultimate Dream Builds #12: Soldiers of the Galaxy
« on: August 19, 2014, 06:35:24 am »
Hello, and welcome to Ultimate Dream Builds!
This is a contest where the sky is the limit on what you think you can create. Let your dreams about how it would be like in the Star Wars Universe guide you as you create unique and amazing character builds. Now to the rules:

1) House rules can only be used if you carefully explain your rules as part of your build.
2) Builds are limited to a max of Heroic Level 20. For Classes, Feats, Powers, and Talents, please use official Saga Edition sourcebooks as much as you can. If you have a house rule, you have to explain it in detail so we can understand the mechanics of it.
3) Unlimited Point Buy is allowed.
4) You are limited to 3 builds per contest. This keeps it a fair game.
5) Please stay on topic of the thread. If something needs to be discussed more in detail, please start another thread and move your thoughts there. This keeps the contest thread clean and simple.
6) You will have 30 days starting from the 1st posting of the current contest. After the 30 days, 14 more days for voting will be available. Winners will be decided by a simple majority of the cast votes. Only one vote per member is allowed You may not vote for yourself and no redos. All VOTES ARE FINAL!
7) The most important rule: HAVE FUN!!! Think outside of the box, and let those awesome dreams we all have take shape!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This Month's contest is all about the men and women to make galactic conquest  possible and protect the many system from harm: Soldiers.

You assignment is simple: Build any type of soldier build you would like, from whatever official faction you would like (Republic, Imperial, Rebel, Galactic Alliance/New Republic, Separatists, etc)

The Extra Rules: No Mandalorians and no Force Users of any kind.
Official Note: I have lowered the amount of submissions from 5 to 3 for the foreseeable future. Most only submit one build, so this will not affect most contestants.

Contest is now closed. Congrats to xargot on his win!

Cereans are typically pacifists and not inclined to the life of warfare.  Some, however, do choose to serve as keepers of the peace, or soldiers, for the galactic good.  These are almost invariably female, due to the lower birth rate and shorter lifespan of the males, making them too invaluable to risk in warfare.  The Cereans who do engage in combat are very dangerous, as their ability to think of two things at once allows them to both devote their full attention to their current opponent and to strategize future actions simultaneously.

C.K. will begin combat by choosing the most valuable target to take down first.  She will use her twin DeathHammer pistols (+15/4d8+10 & +13/4d8+15) if she doesn't have the ability to close with the target.  Given the opportunity to close, she will Keep Them Reeling, making them flat-footed on an Initiative duel (which she can reroll and take the better).  She will then use her pike in conjunction with her DeathHammer, attacking at +16 for 3d8+8 on the pike (which can hit for regular, ion, or stun damage, and can crit on a 19 once per encounter).  If she hits, she triggers Dastardly Strike and a free attack with the DeathHammer at +16 for 5d8+16 fire damage.  Once that opponent goes down, which they will when she's hitting for an average 56 per turn, she then turns her attention to the next target she selected while dealing with the first.

She also makes a decent pilot and can understand droids due to her "binary" mind ;) .

Most Utai are content to allow the Pau'an to rule over them.  Venin was not, so he was banished from his home planet of Utapau.  He wandered the galaxy until he came upon Onderon.  Being a non-human, he was cast out of Iziz.  Not content to be pushed around more, he brought his services to the Beast Riders, where his talents with animals were greatly appreciated.  He soon proved himself adept at operating heavy weaponry as well as handling animals, and was placed in the vanguard where he found great joy in causing damage and seeking retribution against those who had wronged him.

The Drexl is a modified Avka Mother from the UR sourcebook.  The Blaster is mounted on the Battle Harness and has unlimited ammo.  The two make a fearsome attack combo, with the Drexl able to hit about anything, with attack rerolls, and the rider able to cancel many attacks (1/round with double reroll).  The rider benefits from cover (harness) to augment his defense.  Also, Battle Mount makes him harder to hit, and can accelerate his and his mount's attacks.  Add in his Trample and increased speed, and he has many options for dealing damage.

Venin is best at dealing large amounts of damage either to large, easy-to-hit targets (like fortifications and vehicles), or to many small targets (triple autofire, trample).  He would also be good in space combat, if anyone was crazy enough to allow him near a starship weapon.

"The ultimate non-Force sensitive fighters in the Empire serve the Emperor and the Emperor alone. Only Humans and Sith were allowed to be members of the imperial guard as the Emperor thought that they were the Strongest. Most citizens know them as protectors of the Sith Academy on Korriban and the sanctum of the Citadel on Dromund Kaas, the guardsmen’s mandate takes them wherever the Emperor requires. Even the Dark Council has neither control nor oversight of the guard’s activities. Clad in blood-red robes and armor, Imperial Guardsmen serve for life. Chosen for duty and initiated through deadly tests and traditions, those too old for active duty become instructors for the next generation until their skills deteriorate to the point where they are inevitably slain by a new recruit during training. Fanatic in loyalty and unmatched in martial skill, even a lone Imperial Guard is a formidable opponent capable of standing toe-to-toe with a Jedi… or a Sith, should the occasion arise."

I think that you have too many damage dice on some autofire options. I bolded the parts that should have 3d10...

My vote goes to Xargots Venin, for making a mounted character in the SW setting, something we don't see that often. Now those spears with electro grapple handles are just too sweet! First you get hit by a spear, and if you survive that you get electricuted if you pick it up...

Actually, electrograpple is just a special handle that can be pulled to an electromagnet,  which is in his gauntlet.  It simply allows him to retrieve the spears from up to 6 squares away as a move.

However, a booby-trapped thrown weapon does sound fun...
