So I'm struggling with a revised timeline for the Sequel Trilogy.  I feel like I've done a pretty good job so far but I'm stuck on what to do with Rose, Finn, and Poe during the "second movie".  Give the outline a look over and tell me what you think.

15 ABY
o   Rey is born.
o   A mysterious, dark figure begins to haunt Ben Solo’s dreams.

21 ABY
o   Some Imperial remnant leaders turn to a mysterious benefactor from the Unknown Regions to fund their secret rearmament.  Dissenting voices are silenced to keep them from alerting the Republic.  The mysterious benefactor manipulates the Imperial remnant into making him Supreme Leader of the newly christened First Order.

28 ABY
o   Senator Leia Organa resigns from the Galactic Senate following revelations of her parentage.
o   Leia Organa forms the Resistance.

31 ABY
o   Turning to the dark side of the Force, Ben Solo corrupts or kills his fellow students at Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Temple.
o   He assumes the name Kylo Ren, master of the Knights of Ren, and joins the First Order.
o   Luke Skywalker goes into exile over Kylo Ren's fall to the dark side.

34 ABY
o   Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens occurs
   The village of Tuanul is sacked by First Order, which had been pursuing a clue to the missing Jedi Master Luke Skywalker's location.
   The escape from the Finalizer occurs.
   Rey pilots an airship to aid in hauling scrap (thus establishing her as a pilot)
   Escape from Jakku. Rey, a scavenger, Finn, a former stormtrooper of the First Order, and BB-8, a Resistance astromech droid, escape from the planet of Jakku to evade the First Order.
   Skirmish aboard the Eravana.
   The massive super-dreadnaught Eclipse attacks the Republic capital in the Hosnian System, destroying its token fleet before firing a superlaser on the planet Hosnian Prime, cracking the planet open.
   Battle of Takodana. The First Order sacks Maz Kanata's castle, searching for Resistance astromech droid BB-8.  Rey is taken captive by Kylo Ren and transported back to a First Order base on the edge of the Unknown Regions.
   Rey resists Kylo’s mind probes and eventually escapes her bindings through her knowledge of mechanics and incapacitates a Stormtrooper with a makeshift staff.
   Finn and Han Solo travel to the First Order base to disable the planet-based shield protecting the Eclipse (which is in orbit) so that Resistance fighters can damage its drive, causing it to crash into the planet.
   Finn, Han, and Chewbacca capture Captain Phasma and force her to lower the shields but she escapes.
   Resistance star fighters begin their attack.
   Finn, Han, and Chewbacca reunite with Rey.
   Han Solo is killed by Kylo Ren while attempting to return him to the light.  Kylo Ren is shot in the abdomen by Chewbacca, who then detonates bombs set around the shield generator, ensuring it can’t be turned back on.
   Kylo Ren follows Rey and Finn as they attempt to flee to the Millenium Falcon.  Rey is incapacitated and Finn vainly tries to fight the Knight of Ren.
   The Resistance star fighters damage the Eclipse, which misfires at the First Order base planet.
   After Finn’s defeat Rey fights a losing battle with Kylo Ren who tries to seduce her to the dark-side.  She refuses and manages to push him away and slash his face.  The two are separated by a rift caused by the Eclipse’s superlaser.  Rey manages to escape with Finn when Chewbacca arrives with the Millenium Falcon.
   The Eclipse is destroyed when it is overcome by gravity and pulled into the planet.
   Rey and Chewbacca find Luke Skywalker on Ahch-To, a planet in the Unknown Regions. Skywalker reveals that he had gone into hiding at the ancient Jedi temple which also gave him time to delve deeper into Jedi lore to help in his fight against Snoke.  He left a map to either bait First Order agents into a trap (luring them to a place where he would have the advantage) or to draw in anyone with the will to find him (as he felt they would be drawn there by the Force).  In the meantime, he has been studying ancient Jedi texts and meditating on the nature of the Force to best understand how he failed as well as how to proceed.
   Luke begins to train Rey.

First Order–Resistance War
34 ABY
o   The First Order attacks during the Resistance evacuation of D’Qar, but the Resistance fleet escapes.
o   The Republic collapses and the galaxy is thrown into chaos with planets, systems, and regions forming their own factions and alliances.
o   The Resistance and First Order begin a brutal guerilla war as both vie for control of the galaxy.

35 ABY
o   Kylo Ren and his knights sweep the galaxy, looking for Resistance leadership and the young woman, Rey.  Kylo is obsessed with finding the person who scarred him.  In between missions he is trained by Snoke.

36 ABY
o   General Leia sends the Poe, Finn, Rose, and BB-8 on the mission to the Outer Rim to find allies.
o   The Knights of Ren track down and capture them, extracting the location of Luke from BB-8.
o   Kylo and his knights travel to Ahch-To.
o   Rose manages jury-rig the door and escape, freeing the others.  They escape the Finalizer.
o   Kylo and his knights assault the Jedi temple.  Rey fights 3 knights at once while Luke fights the rest.  Luke severely injures the knights and defeats Kylo who attempts to crush him under the rubble of the loosely built buildings.  While Luke catches rubble from crushing both him and the injured knights, Kylo stabs him in the back.  His mission complete, Kylo leaves, tossing aside an infuriated Rey into another crumbling building.
o   Across the galaxy Leia feels Luke’s death.
o   Poe, Finn, Rose, BB-8, and Rey rally on Crait, the new Resistance base.

37 ABY
o   The Resistance manages to ally a number of factions together while the First Order conquers others.

38 ABY
o   The galaxy is evenly split and aflame with battle.  Poe and Finn lead battles.  Rose coordinates the techs working on their equipment.  Rey searches the galaxy for revenge against Kylo and his knights, slaying each in turn until only Kylo and two knights remain.
o   Leia warns Rey against her path of anger but is criticized for letting her son kill her brother.
o   One of the more aggressive sects of the Resistance urges an assault on the mobile headquarters of the First Order, the massive Supremacy.  Rey and Poe agree but Finn, Rose, and Leia don’t.  Rey and Poe acquiesce but the more aggressive sect plan to follow through regardless.
o   Rey tracks down one of the remaining knights and forces them to take her to the Supremacy to kill Kylo while he is distracted by the battle.
o   Rey arrives in the system where the Supremacy resides to find the aggressive sect already destroyed. 
o   The captured Rey is taken before Snoke whose mind probe she isn’t able to resist and the location of the Resistance is revealed.  The First Order fleet leaves to attack.
o   The two massive fleets clash.  Snoke attempts to get Kylo to kill Rey but is slain instead.  Kylo declares himself the ruler of the galaxy, finally descending into madness.  Rey attempts to attack him but is distracted by the Knights of Ren.  She manages to slay them but must now face Kylo.
o   The Resistance struggles against the massive Supremacy.  Rose convinces Finn and Poe to take her aboard the Supremacy as she can sabotage it.  Leia sneaks aboard their ship.
o   Rey struggles against Kylo.  She realizes the path of anger and hatred is what has driven Kylo mad and that her own descent into it has brought nothing but suffering to even those around her.
o   Finn, Poe, and Rose sneak aboard the Supremacy and manage to sufficiently sabotage the ship but are confronted by Phasma.  Finn fights her while Poe and Rose escape.
o   Kylo defeats Rey but is stopped from killing her by his mother.
o   It’s shields and weapons disabled, the Resistance begins to destroy the Supremacy.
o   Kylo attempts to kill Leia who reveals that she knows how to use the Force, having been trained in secret by Luke both in the past and over the last few years via his Force ghost.  The ship begins to crumble around them.  Kylo goes to leave but is held in place by Leia, who orders Rey to leave.  Rey manages to escape just as the area is destroyed.
o   Rey, attempting to flee, finds a triumphant Finn and the two escape together aboard an escape pod.
o   The Resistance defeats the First Order.

Great use of the newly created content, put into a linear story-arc that makes sense with the previous canon! With FTJ's additions, it makes a brilliant conclusion to the Skywalker story.

I'd have enjoyed these movies.
