If the players are sort of familiar with the setting, Odion's and Daiman's parents/grandparents could make excellent antagonists with "plot armor" if so needed

It would be interesting to work the PCs into that story. :) The main reason I haven't done something like that is that the campaign has no specific date other than "some time before Knight Errant" so I have flexibility. But an adventure inside the Chagras Hegemony does have its appeal.

Perhaps Chagras is even fighting against rebels who have predicted the coming of Daiman, although in truth it's a hoax started by his mother, but will re-affirm Daiman's own belief that he "created" the Universe.

If even I had only read about 4 or 5 pages of the prologue of Knight's Errant I'd be familiar with what's going on more or less.

Vai Gandora was successfully rescued from Prince Nestro's dark Jedi training ship. The heroes called in a favor from the Hezra clan of Mandalorians, who provided attack ships and some troops for boarding Nestro's vessel. Nestro had tortured Vai to bring out her anger and give her a taste of what she could do with the dark side. In true Sith fashion, he wanted her to join him and help him overthrow Deleus.

The PCs successfully boarded the ship with a space combat skill challenge, then we switched to a grid map of the ship's corridors - which quickly became filled with difficult terrain as dead and unconscious mook squads piled up. :)

I see Bastion isn't far away.  It would seem like that planet would be a military hub, because it seems logical it would need to have a strong local economy to support a dying government's capital for decades.  Granted that's a thousand years later, but I wouldn't be surprised if the world were already an industrial world manufacturing lots of military goods.

Or, maybe your campaign will explain how Bastion got to be an industrial military world; Perhaps Deleus flees there or one of the independent Sith Lords takes it as a capital.  If it's already a manufacturing world, it would seem like a good goal for a Sith to obtain.

It's possible that Bastion is a GalaCor planet. They're basically my version of Czerka. GalaCor started as a legitimate resale business, buying up used equipment from the rust belt worlds of the Expansion region and reselling it to outer rim planets desperate for the equipment. But then GalaCor moved into slavery and other amoral enterprises. So I wouldn't be surprised if they were the ones who originally industrialized Bastion. They also build the first tibanna gas facilities on Kril'Dor, which could be the subject of a future adventure, ripped from Jedi Academy. ;)

A raid on a GalaCor facility on Kril'Dor reveals the location of Deleus' and Osslac's cloning facility - Mygeeto. Under cover of a space battle, the PCs slip onto the planet and make their way over icy, mountainous terrain to the base, where they launch an attack catching the defenders off guard.

Finally they confront Deleus again, who by this time looks like Mum-Ra. He's basically held together by bandages and the dark side at this point, but still powerful. Taryn and Khars fight a band of lightsaber-wielding acolytes, but Neeko charges Deleus and blasts him, getting a critical hit but getting Force choked in response. He's caught, taking max dice Force grip damage for two rounds before Taryn can distract Deleus.

Neeko collapses, but even though he's down to only 1 hp, he gets off two more shots at Deleus, the second one nailing him right between the eyes and killing him instantly. So Lord Deleus, who earlier in his career had earned the nickname the Butcher of Rodia, ends up getting killed by a Rodian.  8)

Diplomacy and explosions...

Taryn Daystar is now a member of the Jedi Council (the youngest current member at age 30, but also the most experienced when it comes to dealing with the Sith).

The Neimoidians petition the Council for permission to hire mercenaries to help defend their ships against pirates, sort of like the late Roman Empire hiring one group of barbarians to fight another group of barbarians.

Taryn and Vai Gandora travel to meet with a mercenary group known as the Free Army, former soldiers of Sith warlords whose masters were defeated by their rivals, they now work for themselves and have moved down into the Expansion Region. The Jedi soon discover that the Free Army are not the sort of people you want as friends; they've basically been operating like Neocrusaders, enslaving vulnerable people to use as forced labor, and so on.

They try to kill the Jedi, but Taryn and Vai escape. Taryn argues for a swift military response, but the Council is evenly divided so Chancellor Miraan vetoes the idea. Meanwhile, Taryn negotiates with the Neimoidians, offering them a tax incentive to recruit and train Republic citizens as a private defense force, in lieu of using outside mercenaries. In exchange, the Neimoidians agree to let the Jedi use their ships as troop transports in the event military action is later undertaken against the Free Army.

Vai has traveled to the moons of Bogden to see if her own merc contacts can provide any additional info about the Free Army that might sway the Council to take action. She learns that the Free Army have taken over an abandoned starship construction facility and are gearing up for full production of military vessels to expand their reach.

Taryn and Vai go on a scouting mission to scan the shipyard and confirm the rumor. This turns into a "forceful reconnaissance" mission when they decide to blow up part of the shipyard before jumping back to Republic space. :)

This proves to be an unpopular preemptive strike in the eyes of some Council members, but they make the most of it, using the opportunity to bluff the Free Army. Taryn gets the Neimoidians to mass empty troop transports on the border as if the Jedi plan to follow up in force, and the bluff works. The Free Army pulls back from threatening Republic space, although it's clear that this isn't a final resolution to the issue...

Vai Gandora makes contact with the isolationist Lord Polemis, Jedi watchman of Virujansi, and helps him repel a Free Army incursion into his territory. The Jedi Council still refuses to endorse any action, but with alliances now in existence between Farfalla, Polemis and Lord Chavik, others are in position to take action on their own if necessary.

Meanwhile, Taryn Daystar has a Force vision of the desiccated corpse of Lord Deleus. Sensing that his dark influence has not been entirely eradicated even after his death, Taryn heads back to Ord Mantell to meet with the Jedi of the New Territories...

The Lord Farfalla at this time is probably Valenthyne Farfalla's grandfather. :)

In the last session before Force Awakens...

In the wake of Deleus' empire going down in flames, GalaCor is trying to reassert control over the systems along the Entralla Route, and has besieged the planet Anobis. A young Corellian Jedi named Dash Novar is leading the planet's resistance. (Dash is modeled after Rainbow Sun Francks, since I've been watching Stargate Atlantis recently. ;) )

The PCs gather some much needed reinforcements and break through the GalaCor blockade to relieve the defenders. After an initial ground skirmish and assessing the strength of the GalaCor army, the PCs decide on a risky plan of dividing their numerically inferior force and attacking the enemy in two places at once. The battle is fierce and it takes everything they have, but they ultimately prevail and drive GalaCor from the planet - but their victory comes with a heavy price, as Khars Lovekill dies in the fighting.  :(

From the Archives of the Galactic Senate of the Republic

After the Battle of Mizra, 1466 BBY...

"This is a crisis!" said Senator Tran. "The Sith are at our very doorstep!"

Senator Dodonna picked up where the diminutive Gossam left off. "The Senate must vote the Chancellor emergency powers. He can then cut through the red tape and muster our defense to save what's left of the Republic."

Standing nearby, gazing out the long window at the deceptively peaceful cityscape of Coruscant, the aged Arkanian Chancellor Renarus let out a heavy sigh. "I fear the Senate would never approve such an amendment." His normally smooth baritone voice sounded raspy with fatigue. "Unless..."

Senator Antilles interrupted him. "It would mean the end of democracy!"

A chorus of anxious murmuring followed the young Alderaanian's outburst. Dodonna caught the Chancellor's eye and a mutual understanding passed between them. Dodonna's voice then rose above the din. "Only a Jedi could be trusted with such authority," he said.

Renarus nodded his agreement.

"You would step down, then?" Antilles asked the Chancellor. His mind was obviously struggling to process all the implications.

"It is the only way to prevent total collapse."

Senator Tran, a noted constitutional expert, stepped forward into the center of the gathering where she could be better seen. "There is a precedent for investing the Chancellorship with imperium maius," she said, invoking an archaic legal term.

"Only in ancient times," cried Antilles, "and even then it was only held by bloodthirsty theocrats! You're talking about making the Chancellor the Emperor of the Republic!"

"Commander-in-Chief, tribune and censor," said the Gossam with calculated calm.

"In other words, emperor!" Antilles did not want to play with words and disguise what they were really contemplating.

"That is why the Jedi must assume the post of Supreme Chancellor now," said Renarus. "With any one of us, even me, there would be too much fear and suspicion, too much concern that our political ambition would lead us to abuse such power. The Jedi are above such things."

"Then let us bring the motion before the full Senate without delay," said Dodonna.

Antilles lowered his head, accepting the inevitable. "Summon the delegates."

"I will speak with the Masters of the Council," said Renarus. "Pending their agreement, I will call for a vote as soon as possible." He made eye contact with each of the Senators in the room. "May the Force be with us all," he said.

So, update on the state of the galaxy (or at least the state of the New Territories)...

Prince Nestro has emerged as the heir apparent to Lord Deleus. The Sith scientist/cloner, Osslac, is still around also. The PCs could have killed Osslac on Mygeeto, but bypassed him to concentrate on Deleus. So Osslac survived, and is working with Nestro now.

With the destruction of the Mygeeto cloning facility, the rapid-aged clone soldiers Deleus had created quickly started to break down physically. Deprived of his previous lab and records, Osslac had to come up with a new way to preserve the remaining clones as a fighting force. He redesigned their armor to act as a life support system, so the troopers are now permanently bound to their armor. Their appearance has always been based on KOTOR Sith troopers, but with the new life support armor being painted gold, the clone soldiers are now known as the Golden Order. :)

Osslac also managed to save Deleus' corpse when he fled Mygeeto, and he and Nestro have started a dark side cult based around it. With his various dark transfer/Sith alchemy abilities, Osslac has been able to draw dark side energy from Deleus' mortal remains and empower a group of "Reborn" type of acolytes to supplement the Golden Order. Osslac and Nestro perform indoctrination ceremonies featuring Deleus' corpse (this is what Taryn was seeing in her vision). They've also installed a hologram projector to make it look like Deleus' Force spirit appears and gives the cultists his blessing.  :o 8)

So these are the new baddies in the region, ready to wreak havoc. :)

The new Princess Leia ships from "Rebels" look smaller than the classic KOTOR Hammerheads. They appear to be more like blockade runners, so I've dubbed them Hammerhead Corvettes and stolen them for my game. :)
