Khal walked off the shuttle ramp as Rakos answers the challenge question. Rakos must had been given command of the mission, as only officers are given challenge answers normally. Know the Rebel contact almost always used challenge questions as a code, he knows this is standard. He waits as the they await the Captain's response

He smiles and the guns on the ship shift upward looking for airborne targets. The shuttle you stepped off of takes off quickly and speed out of the atmosphere.  The human walked forward and greeted each of you. "I am Captain Netbers, please call me Sarn." He gestures toward his shuttle. "Welcome aboard the Talia's Star. Quickly get aboard and and get secured. We are about 15 minutes away from take off. If you have anything that will be...shall we say unwelcome on the next planet let me know. We will secure it in some specialized holds shortly before dropping out of hyperspace."
As you board the shuttle a small astromech whistles a greeting. "That is 42-6K he is my mechanic on board. As members of my "crew"  you will be required to help defend this shuttle from any pirates we may encounter.  We have special authorization by the Empire to have 3 blaster cannons and a missile launcher."

If Deeso's face could be seen it would probably show some mild surprise as to who was in charge of the mission. But, there was no use arguing the position it was a decision that was not up to them. Second-in-command meant having to keep the troops combat ready while Rakos had to keep morale up for the most and give an air of confidence and certainty in his decisions. A cold voice modulator could not do that. It would probably have the opposite effect. During the trip Deeso took an inventory of the supplies that were available to them.

Upon arriving to their first stop Deeso looked at the man calling himself Sarn. Middle-aged most likely has had heart surgery in the past few years judging by his appearance. Though if he saw what Desso looked underneath he would say you should eat your meat and potatoes. 'Special authorization' was something that stuck out in the mind true most ships were required to have some way to defend themselves but it was more than likely meant for the missile launcher. Though probably the galactic center had more stringent measures for people wanting to acquire ships. Visiting the galactic capital for the first time might even be fun if it wasn't for this assignment. Deeso showed the Sarn the briefcase "This needs to go in one of those places, it's best not open it. I have my license for these two." Deeso said pointing to the sniper rifle on the combat harness and the pistol strapped to side of the hip. Handing over something that was precious and expensive was one of things that didn't put the mind at ease. A Night stinger was illegal even in hutt space, unless you were under the employ of one.

Turning to face the rest of crew. "Keep whatever you need in the event to repel boarders pistols and rifles only, if you have any volatile substance secure them." Deeso said in the detached tone. "Captain Sarn do you mind if I inspect the ship, I have some experience in starship maintenance if you need any extra hands or a pilot for that matter."

Khal boarded the new shuttle as told. When asked about any item the would require special means of hiding, he thought of his lightsaber "Sal and I will have to give you our lightsabers. Do not use them, do not lose them." Khal felt naked when he didnt have his lightsaber on him. He does have a DT-12 pistol he has had for years now, but its only really been a show piece. Something to make is appearance more normal in this day in age. "I will surrender my saber when we are closer to Courscant"

Khal finds a good place to sit for the ride, and readies himself for the long journey.

After Rakos gave the appropraite code, Cailid moved with the rest of the team off the craft, taking a quick look around the bay. The iconic white dagger shape of the Imperial shuttle looms over them, but Cailid was not cowed by it's sight. He glances idly over at the ship's captain as Sarn greeted them on, nodding as the captain advised to store an uncommon weapons.

The reluctance was plain on the gee-dai's face, so he pats Khal on the arm with a soft punch. "Weapons do not make a warrior great," he smirks to Khal as he unslings his modular rifle. The modularity allows the weapon to break down easily, and he picks out a small cargo container, which easily holds the disassembled equipment. It should be ignored by inspection, but unfortunately would not of much immediate use if there's trouble. Which is why Kailid also carries a knife and pistol as a back-up.

Finally he takes a seat in the roomy cabin, stretching out his grey furred arms. There is a subtle pop from his back and a sigh of release. Cailid lounges in his seat, looking for many like one without a care in the world.

I nod as Captain Netbers explains his security measures.  "Very well, Captain."   I am loathe to be parted from any of my gear, but it is for the greater good.  It takes only a short time for me to remove the more unusual pieces of gear like my garrotte, my concealed wrist launcher and my flamethrower from my vest and place them in a container.  Though unusual, my shockwhip and my concussion rifle are licensed and should pass inspection without too much trouble.

I turn to the group.  "Help out where you can."  I go find a seat and sit to review the mission notes.

After the initial inspection Deeso was satisfied, it was one of the only things that met satisfaction, the crew however was not going to trust their XO for the time being. Though coming across an emotionless cyborg would with a matter-of-fact tone would get on their nerves. Passing by a number of the team making sure they were doing something that was related to the mission. Finding a quiet corner Deeso went through the settings of the voice modulator figuring a gruff tone would not be suited to keeping the team calm under pressure.

A few minutes of testing Deeso settled on one that would help the group. Meeting Rakos and sitting right next across from table. "I hope I am not bothering you commander. But we should go over the initial plan when we land planetside." Deeso said in a voice that came across in a feminine tone. "If we split up into two teams we can make contact with both objectives. And we would draw less suspicion the more alien members of our crew would make contact with our 'friends' while studying the target. My skills can be put to either use in terms of electronics or on the ground gathering intelligence. Nevertheless the choice for the teams are up to you." Deeso then handed a datapad containing a condensed version of the crew's noteworthy skills "I have committed most of it to memory already and when you are done allocating delete the information."

Sotorre and Wunbee would board the vessel, and the avian would look about and familiarize himself with the ship. R2-1B seemed less interested in such things, though he would let out some bleeps and garbles here and there. The fosh would sigh a little as he unslung the rifle from his shoulder, handing the miniaturized sniper rifle off to the captain, "I suppose military-grade weapons would be a dead giveaway- oh well, doubt sge'd be of much use while we're still onboard anyways, my carbine is better in close quarters. Take care of her; she may not be as valuable as a Jedi laser-vibroblade, but she's still had a lot of custom work done for me." He would then let out a small comment in Fosh about how cramped the place was, even for one of his stature.

Sotorre would then head toward Khal, "Forgive me, but I couldn't help but overhear you two earlier; you know General Kota?"

"Kota? We have met and spoken a few times, but I really do not know the man. He wanted to get a feel of how I was as a Jedi. I must have passed his tests because I haven't heard or saw the man in at least 2 years. " Khal said in response to the Fosh's question. Curious, he asked his own question "Why do you ask?"

"I met him once, after a major battle over Kamino which he commanded; haven't seen him since my transfer to medical services... I actually was hoping to find someone that could give him my thanks for such, can't say I ever would have thought to pursue such a path if not for him ordering it," the Fosh would let out a bit of a sigh as he explained further: "I was also... Rather disrespectful when I found out about it... I was hoping to get a chance to apologize at some point..."

"I see. Well you shouldn't worry about Jedi and insults. Even before the purge, we Jedi were used to people either outright not liking us, or other general disrepect." Khal lightens his tone, laughing a bit as he said it "Kota would have rebuked you immediately if he though you needed it. That guy does not mess around."

My curiosity is piqued at Deeso's vocal transformation.  Perhaps it is a woman under the mask instead of a man.  I shrug.  As long as Deeso does the job well, it does not matter.

Looking over the group's data, I place individuals into teams:  Salak Orn, Callid, and myself to retrieve and install the computer spike, and Sotorre, Deeso, and Khal Torr to meet the resistance cells and find Danni Valton.  One Jedi, one computer expert, one human, one command figure, one small figure, and one medic per team.

I key my earbud comlink and tune it to the frequency given to the squad.  "Please report to the cargo bay."  Once they arrive, I transfer a brief message to their datapdas detailing Madine's decision to make me nominal commander and Deeso the XO, group assignments and reasoning, and a request for a callsign for identification once we get on the ground.  I glance around at the group to judge reactions.  "Questions?"

Khal reviewed the datapad after being summoned to the cargo bay. The Primary objective was to be his team's responsibility. "No questions here, we will handle this mission well."

"Thank you... Still, I do hope I get to apologize to Kota himself someday," the Fosh nodded before hearing Tariko's orders, after which he'd head to the cargo hold as commanded.

After listening to the details, he would interject, "Is it really wise for us to be splitting up? We're already a small squad as it is, and meeting up again to pull out of Coruscant certainly won't be easy..."

((We haven't even really started the mission, and already we're splitting the party?))
