"Looking forward to it. Better to be over prepared than caught with your pants down." Eluia smiled, "Love the weapons package. Looks like it will do the job just fine. Do you have a lot of experience boarding and repelling boarders?" He liked the look of the package, power and lots of in a somewhat small space.

Aradar shakes his head at the inquiry.  "Not really.  My previous assignments involved starfighters, and not many people try to pluck you out of the c0ckpit by hand.  Imagine us similar to Wraith Squadron with a specific SLAM protocol.  I'm more used to blowing up stuff.  But I think I can handle not punching holes in our ship.  I think it would be too much paperwork." He looks over Kam's flechette rifle.  "I like.  I'd have incorporated one into my platform if I could've found the room.  So what was your previous assignment, Sergeant?"

Having given the medbay a once over Sandi takes and puts on one of the white medical coats. She then smooths it out and places her two scanners from her medical kit in the two pockets on the coats left and right sides so they're at hand to be used in a moment's notice. She feels a little nervous, it looks like she has some big boots to fill...

"My previous assignment was teaching new recruits how to not get themselves killed." Kam laughed. "Sadly I have been out of combat for a year or so. Not that I have lost any skill, it is amazing how much practice you can get when training recruits. Similar to Wraith Squadron? You must have done some crazy stuff."

"Ah, recruits," says Aradar, shaking his head.  "Definitely an interesting experience."

He waves his hand with nonchalance.  "I'm not even in the same galaxy as the Wraiths.  What I've done is plain and simple by comparison.  We mostly just blew stuff up."

He looks at his chrono.  "Well, Sergeant, I won't keep you.  I'm certain you will want to inspect your troops, and I need to get to the bridge.  Lots of stuff to become familiar with before we leave.  But I'll be in touch."  He salutes, then heads off.

Once on the bridge, he approaches the junior pilot running the pre-flight checklist and warm-up.  "Ensign, how's it looking?"

The mysterious woman boards the ship ahead of James, heading aft to the crew quarters. Meanwhile, the muscular Klatooinian nods in reply to James's question. "Yes sir - Lieutenant Knar Mocree. The ship will be ready in a few minutes. The sublights need warming up."

------------------

Meanwhile, the ensign Aradar addressed jumps to his feet and salutes. "Just about ready sir - I was just warming up the sublight drives - they're taking a little longer then I thought they would." He absently pulls at his cap's bill. "Would you like to take over sir?"

------------------

Sandi has just finished laying out her equipment when the door hisses open and a short young Twi'lek woman steps in. She's wearing a mechanic's uniform that hugs her curvaceous figure tightly, with the NCO rank of Assistant Engineer on one shoulder. The Twi'lek is cradling her left arm - the smooth green skin of her hand and forearm is badly scorched.

"There was a accident in the engine room", she gasps, sitting down on the examination table. "Just a shorted power conduit. But it caught my arm-" her breath catches, and she winces in pain.

After Aradar left Kam turned and went to find the marines. He wanted to make sure they were up to his standards. If they weren't though he might have to ask Aradar to help get them up to par. He wasn't sure what the specifics of the mission was but he wanted his men to be ready for what Captain Archer needed them for.
As he walked through the corridors he kept track mentally of the bulkheads and different places where they would be able to prevent boarders from progressing. While he hoped that it never came down to that, he knew that any force trying to take this ship were going to be in for a series of nasty surprises. "Perhaps I should speak with the Chief Engineer, see what kind of surprises we could prepare..." he mumbled to himself as he prepared to meet with the marines. Following that he planned to tour the rest of the vessel before making himself available on the bridge.

Sandi picks up the mds-50 medisensor and smiles encouragingly as she passes the sensor over her patient. "We'll have you patched up and back to work shortly. We're you the only one injured?" Once done with that if the sensor indicates a need for more information she uses the bioscanner to gather that info. With the info gathered she collects her medical kit, surgery kit, or medpac and treats the wound. She speaks to her soothingly to keep the Assitant Engineer at ease while treating her.

Archer nods "Lets set the departure time in a half Hour" he says "I will be in my office till then" with that archer heads for his office looking around s he heads there though the ship is not new that just means she has character as he arrives Archer keys the code to enter his office and sits at th desk before looking in earnest t his orders in addition he keys up the specifications of the retribution compared to an ordinary CR90 corvette he knows that any difference must be accounted for in his tactics as a mistake could cost them and he was unwilling to make the men and women of his crew pay for his mistake

Aradar smiles at the ensign.  "Excellent.  Yes, I'll take the controls, but I want you to take the copilot chair and help me get familiar with this lovely lady."

He continues to warm the engines and proceed through the preflight checklist.  After a bit more idling, he comms down to the engineering bay.  "Engineering, this is chief helmsman Aradar.  I understand the engines are a bit slow on the warmup.  When you get a free moment, can I please have an update?  Thank you."

Kam finds the marine's quarters, then palms the door controls and enters. Inside, the marines quickly line up in two rows on either side of the room, each man at attention in front of his bunk. Their armor and weapons have been carefully stowed in the correct compartments beneath the bunks. In the center of the room is a small table; on the table is a holoprojector. A ghostly blue figure hovers over the projector base - Tam recognizes Colonel Jerkan Mortis, a regimental commander. The hologram crackles with static as Mortis speaks.

"Sergeant Te'Kam Llosong, you are hereby promoted to the position of Warrant Officer in the Army of the New Republic, subdivision New Republic Special Forces. You will receive your warrant at your next port of call, where you will also take your oath. In the meantime, you are to take command of the 19th New Republic Marines Platoon." He gives a salute and smiles. "Congratulations. It's fairly irregular for a NCO to command a platoon, so show some appreciation. I had a hard time getting the brass to go for it. As it was, they insisted on this promotion." He turns to view the troopers. "At any rate, they're all yours. Enjoy."

---------

The Twi'Lek shakes her head slightly at Sandi question. "Just me", she grimaces. "It wasn't too bad. Should be easy to fix." She's probably talking about the power not conduit, not the arm.
Meanwhile Sandi works quickly and efficiently, swiftly placing a bacta patch on the burn wound - luckly the scanner showed no serious problems. A simple bacta patch and a few injections are all she needs. She talks as she works, and the young woman quickly calms down.

---------

James's new office is clean but bare. His orders are simple - proceed to Coruscant and wait to receive further orders. The ship's readout is a little more interesting. First, the Retaliation has been upgraded with series of point defense lasers - useful in beating off snubfighter attacks. Second, the ship seems to have a glitch in the deflector shield power grid - reports from previous captains have noted that the shields often run at less than 100% power.

---------

The comm crackles. "Engineering - Knar Mocree, Chief Engineer speaking. We've had a problem with a replacement power conduit and had to reroute power temperaraly, but it should be fixed in a few minutes. Captain says departure is set for half an hour."

"Roger that, Chief," Aradar replies.  "Keep me posted if you have any more problems."

After killing the comm, Aradar takes a moment to glance around the bridge and see who the other deck officers and personal are.  Might need to get to know them to get stuff figured out.

He turns back to the junior pilot and smiles politely.  "Well, Ensign, what's your name, where are you from, and how you'd end up here?"

Kam was stunned. It wasn't that he didn't appreciate the promotion, it just was something he didn't expect. He was far more comfortable leading men and being part of the action than the paperwork involved with higher ranks. If they thought that they would stick him behind a desk again after this mission the brass had another thing coming.
"Thank you Colonel. I appreciate the honour." Kam saluted and then turned to the marines. "I am sure by now you all know who I am. Some of you may have even heard of me. I want you to take all of that garbage and forget it. I am here to do my job just as you. That being said I won't accept any laziness or unprofessional behaviour. You get one warning and then the next time I have a problem you ship out to the most painful post I can find for you. Perhaps cleaning the Tautan pens on Hoth...with no gear. I expect you to do your job: that is keep the ship safe and remove any and all enemies who face her. I will be in the front lines. Be professional, be polite but have a plan to kill every one you meet. Follow me to glory and victory!"
He took a deep breath. "Do you have any questions for me? Don't ask about the mission as I haven't been read in as of yet."
