Star Wars: Dawn of Shadows
« on: October 20, 2015, 04:40:25 pm »
Spoiler: Opening Crawl (hover to show)

Your ship pulls up beside the colorful Sabaoth Destroyer, and a transparent tube with multicolored lights extends from the Sonic Boom and couples to your air lock. You enter the flashing tunnel, and walk to the other end. It is staffed by two old yet well maintained droids, AD-series weapons maintenance droids by your guess. As the two droids greet you and produce portable scanners, a large droid eye pops out of a panel above the door and croaks out a welcome. "Greetings, Honored Guests" it barks out in Huttese, "Give your weapons to the door droids, and have a pleasant time within."

Julian Rainwater steeped off the lip connecting the sonic boom tunnel to the air lock. Julian was only a hand taller than most other humans, yet despite only moderate height most people where cowed by the gaze of an eyeless face. Most Miralukans wore some kind of cloth over where there eyes should be, they didn't want to unsettle others. However the Arminius Sun was on a dangerous mission and making people feel comfortable was simply not part of it. His hair was cut short, except for a braid on the back. It was the mark of a Padawan however it was not unique to the order and growing them out again was a pain. When the droids requested their weapons Julian quickly surrendered his pulse-wave pistol pulling it out of his holster hidden under his shoulder. He kept the light saber on his left forearm alone. Despite the fact that the droids asked for weapons and where going to check he hoped surrendering the one so quickly would make their search quickly and poorly. As he reached his hand forward the cloak about his hand fell back revealing the pattern forever burned into his left hand. The skin was scorched black, **** in a pattern and burned their for eternity. The pattern completely blackened the top of his hand and the scorched reached back down his left forearm not unlike a lighting bolt striking form a black cloud. He looked around to his other party members they where all surrendering their weapons some faster than others. He wondered if any of the others where about to try what he was.

Thorr is a large bulk of a man. Over 2 meters tall, with long blonde hair braided in a simple pattern behind him. He was a forever five'o clock shadow of dirty blonde color. His deep bluish-green eyes and a smile that never seems to keep him out of trouble. His armor was simple and functional, with a hip holster for his secondary, but equally-loved weapon, a DC-23 pistol. His primary weapon is hidden away on his left hip, as it bends into his pants.

He gets out of the shuttle, having to bend several time due to low-hanging bulkheads. Finally the out of the airlock, he can walk upright again. He does a little stretch before getting to the door. He surrenders his DC-23. Any scans for weapons would not pick up his lightsaber, as its hilt is made of rare hardwood from Corellia and the internal components are ceramic-metal composites that do not trigger alarms. His father was always on the run, created a lightsaber that could be smuggled easily. Such a great gift no for Thorr.

He comes seek any job that will help him track down his parent's killers. He's young, but capable. He's a great tracker, and his charm helps him get information out of most people without needless violence. The Jedi worked with the Imps now, but Thorr still had Imps to kill, and so he keeps his real self hidden from most. For now, he sees that other people are here seeking jobs as well. Maybe someone wants to team up... Thorr always likes to have some company on jobs as long as they can handle their own business and do it well.

Edit: Stealth check needed to conceal his lightsaber

Just behind the jedi, a menacing looking alien; a Kel Dor, steps off the ship. Wearing simple but sturdy armour, and with a blaster carbine slung across his back, Dar Kahn stands just short of 2 metres and commands an aura of confidence. His deep, rhythmic breathing can be heard, the sound amplified by his breathing mask, and he grunts with disdain as the droids gesture for his weapon. Seeing his companions hand over their blasters, he sighs in defeat and removes his carbine from his back. "I'd better get this back when I leave." His deep voice comes amplified from the breathing mask, and he begrudgingly relinquishes his weapon to the droids.

A tall figure followed the others in, the intimidating form of a wookiee becoming clear as shadows gave way to his black fur. Rykooryr let out a grunt of disapproval, roaring a bit, though any that knew Shyriiwook would see it only as a sign of frustration, not forming any actual words. Despite his protests, the wookiee did as requested, removing a sheath from his back which held his personal ryyk blade, offering it to the droid. To add to Kar's demand, the wookiee spoke to the droid in threat: {(Shyriiwook) If we don't get our arms back, we'll take your arms as compensation...} He wasn't sure if the droid could actually understand him- but all in all, Rykooryr didn't really find it that important, as long as his blade was well kept and returned to him.

Thorr understood Rykooryr and laughs a bit. He looks over and sees the long ryyk blade. Thorr knows that they are extremely rare outside of the Wookiee homeworld to ever be able to see one in person. He's only seen them in a database on melee weapons. A fine weapon if someone didnt have a lightsaber, Thorr thought

Krisstian stares at everyone around him, to see that they were given up only blasters.  So he unfasten his holster with his new blaster and handed it over to the droid.  Knowing this was a possibility he had hid his lightsaber  by breaking in down into 3 parts that he had hid on himself.

"Doid if I don't get these back I will have you scrapped and bill your master for a new one."  Krisstian stood there arms crossed glaring at the droid.  Hoping the his slightly above average size and build would be somewhat intimidating.

Thw two door droids scan each character thoroughly as you pass between them. They stop Julian as he attempts to enter. "Please give us all weapons." One of the droids motiones to your arm where it has detected your lightsaber. Their hands and ams block your path.

The others all seemed to makes it through without any issues.

As you enter the vessel, you are assaulted by flashing coloured lights and the sound of loud music. You have entered a luxury multi-levelled cantina pulsing with life. A band plays on a large floating stage, with various aliens at different instruments, even a group of RO-D-Series light-and-sound entertainment droids assists with beats and lasers. At one end, a large entrance alights to a massive c a s i n o, with hundreds of various punters gambling at different games, both live and via HoloNet screens. All throughout the comfortable chaos and deluxe luxury buzz dozens of droids, both service and security, which bear Girza the Hutt's mark. A sobering reminder of the real reason that you came to this place...

Julian grunted a little as the droid threw his arm across his path. He was frankly surprised by the fact the droids detected the lightsaber, most weapon scans listened for the hum of a vibro weapon or the radiation left by gas in the blaster. They must have been modified to find a lightsaber as well. However when Krisstian's own lightsaber didn't set off the droids. Perhaps because Krisstain had taken his apart, oh well some to look into later. With a flourish of motion, his empty hand became filled with a long metal tube seemingly of now where. It was plain for a Jedi, mostly because he was a padawan, however he had managed to emboss the seal of the Arminius Sun onto the hilt. The Sun was a bronze seven pointed star burst, the tendrils of the star shimmered at their tips and waved wildly while they left the center. Through the sun was a ancient sword, piercing the sun as if someone had driven it into the ground. The actual Sun and Sword at his families home was much more intricate with patterns going into patterns, but his sword was simply, one day its seal would be as in depth as the one hanging the hall. He surrendered the weapon and added his own threat like that of the others, If I get this back with one scratch I will cut you in two with it. The droid took the weapon and let him pass through. They hadn't taken the shield he wore on his back, apparently that and armor was still fair game. For the mission he had scraped off the marking he kept on the shield, nothing to tie him to Jedi or Empire now.
Stepping into the club was an assault only to his ears. His own force vision didn't pick up on colors and writing but rather the essence things had in the force, and using the others around him, he could gain a sense of written objects. He had been told that the vision was much like an "x-ray sonar". The barge and patrons where of little consequence to him. Julian noted the droids, hard to see but the life around him made them visible. Looking to the others and giving a slight nod they walked forward to the droid guards.

Dar Kahn reaches back over his shoulder, only to remember that his blaster had already been taken from him. Instead, he turns to his companions and frowns. "I don't like this..." he growls out quietly, his voice slightly muffled by the mask. He looks around to make sure there are no droids within audio-receptor-shot before continuing. "Please tell me at least one of you managed to smuggle a weapon in..."

Thorr smiles "Of course. My charm doesnt quite have the same affect without it." He turns gears "Don't be so serious though, we'll see whats up soon enough. Just smile and waive to the charming ladies and keep your eyes open"

Dar Kahn sighs with relief. "Sorry, I'm just a little... new to this..." He tries to smile, but his mask hides most of it. "So, what's the plan?" From behind his protective goggles, Dar Kahn's eyes scan the room, not really looking for anything in particular.

At Dar Kahn's inquest and Thorr's witty reply Julian smiled. It might be fun working with these people. I only have the shield myself, but its better than nothing. If we get in a fire fight Kahn and Rykooryr can stand behind me. Thorr, and I assume Krisstian, still have their lightsabers. They can cover our flanks and take someone out, thats when Kahn and  Rykooryr can grab their rifles. Julian looked to Krisstian to see if his guess was right. Julian didn't mean to take control, they where supposed to be a group of individuals and anyone seeing someone dish out orders could hurt the cover. However as a Jedi with a lot of responsibility it happened sometimes, he just couldn't help it. At least this way if something went wrong because of a plan, it would be his plan, and his fault. One last thing before we start, we are here to work, not fight. he trusted the others to have the discipline not to start anything, but soldiers and wookie's could be... impulsive, at times. As he was talking he also took a good look around the room.

As you go about yourselves on the ship, a few droids quickly round all of you up. "Out gracious host wishes to speak with yo." They inform you in a monotonous droid voice, and they usher the group into a turbolift.

You exit the turbolift into a luxurious and spacey observation room containing metal cabinets of fine liquors, tasty Hutt-sized treats, and an array of stun weaponry and old droid parts. One wall is a one-way mirror that looks out over the cantina. Service and sentinel droids are everywhere, busily attending to their duties or standing guard over the rooms only other living being. Languishing on a very comfortable large couchplatform sits a burgundy-coloured Hutt female. She bears an array of fluorescent tattoos, a fine silver mesh covering her female Hutt-hood, and a cybernetic left eye. An old, gold coloured protocol droid stands next to her couch. One droid waves you forward, and the gold droid speaks with a posh, yet slightly stressed, accent.

"Present yourselves to the All-Powerful and Wise Girza the Hutt. May her grace and wisdom radiate upon you like a beautiful and glistening star." When the Hutt sees you, her eye widens in delight. She speaks in Huttese, though her protocol droid translates. "Ahhh, I have some new guests. Yes, I have certainly not seen you here before. So, why have you come all this way to my humble establishment, my delightful little surprises? Presumably looking for little ol' me, maybe? Pray, entertain me with your story."

Thorr puts up his usual charms, though it almost physically pains him to use them on a female Hutt. He bows then lets it rip "Well Ma'am, I came to offer you my humble services. I'm a good tracker if I don't say myself, decent in a fight, and damn good in the information business." He flashes the smile of his "Just looking for a job ma'am, and an mighty patron to work for is just a really great bonus"
