Grrr, damn clanker.  Just needed to hit the darn thing without trying to get too fancy.  Average damage should have been more than enough to take it down as raw hitpoints weren't what we should have been going for.  Not taking B down means A will most likely reach the line unhindered!!

Torkad turns to the approaching firebreathers and floods the closer one with blasterfire. Then, noticing red light on his rifle, he rather reloads his empty power pack, hoping the others could take down the approaching beasts without getting smoked.

Osten yelps in fear as the two large beasts bear down on the trench line.  He swivels with his turrets and lights up the closest beast.

Spoiler: Attack Rolls (hover to show)

Krusseck grips his axe tightly in both hands and begins swinging, carving huge swaths through the stocky reptoid warriors.  He begins chanting.  "One for fun, two for chew, three for glee, four for war, five for rive, . . . . . ."  With each swing of the axe, the count grows higher, and the Chazrach are dismembered, decapitated, and rent open.  When the last Chazrach falls, Krusseck barely slows his stride.  He must have more points.  He strips the blood from his axe with his fingers, flicks it on the ground. and marches towards the beetle warriors.  He bellows a challenge, pointing his axe at one of the warriors on the nearest beetle.  "Fight me, if you dare!"  Krusseck snarls and beats his chest, using his body language to taunt the warrior.

Furbal sees the giant beasts emerging from the forest but still has a job to finish.  "Want something done right looks like I have to do it myself."
Spoiler: Furbal attack (hover to show)
"Ahruu"

Tyro surveys the new beast that are just beginning to emerge from the forest now and realizes they will need a major concentration of firepower but also has some concern about the remaining beast that's starting to flank them.  Allies' reloads came just in time.

"RA-JR, see if you can knockdown to last of the large bugs while I fill it with fire.  Adam, Baker see if you can rain missile fire down on the left most of the emerging beasts; Chad, Dave do the same fore the one right in front of us!"
Spoiler: Attack and specifics (hover to show)
Fire spills forth and singes the still standing fire breather.  Tyro asks HQ over the comlink "WHAT IS THE STATUS OF THE EVACUATION!!  We've got company coming and I'm not sure much longer we'll be able to hold them!" then returns to local communication waiting for the response.

As you continue your attempts to blunt the push, firebreather 'B' groans and topples over. Krusseck, you flick the remaining gore from your vibroaxe and stand over the corpses of Chazrach squad 'F'.

Chiss 'Adam' and 'Baker' fire their missiles to hit beetle 'A' while 'Chad' and 'Davis' are firing to hit beetle 'B'

'Adam' rolls 1d20(19)+10=29 which hits both the beetle and the rider squad. The attack does 6d6(26)+5-5(DR)=26 dmg to beetle 'A' and does 6d6(26)+2d6(11)+5=42/2=21 dmg to the squad.

'Baker' rolls 1d20(11)+10=21 which hits the beetle but misses the rider squad. Squad 'A' is going to use their reaction to use "Mounted combat" to roll a ride check DC21 to negate the hit: 1d20(8)+17=25. The attack is halved for 25/2=12-5=7.

'Chad' rolls 1d20(6)+10=16 which misses both beetle and rider squad. The squad takes no dmg but the beetle takes half: 6d6(19)+5=24/2=12-5(DR)=7.

'Davis' rolls 1d20(11)+10=21 which hits the beetle but misses the rider squad. Squad 'B' is going to use their reaction to use "Mounted combat" to roll a ride check DC21 to negate the hit: 1d20(11)+17=28. The attack is halved for 28/2=14-5=9.

RA-JR now takes aim at the closest and still active firebreather. At this range, it presents a substantial threat to all organics in the trench and bunker. An unacceptable state resulting from a tactical error. It would not be repeated.

RA-JR aims and fires at firebreather 'A', taking no penalty for power blast: 1d20(14)+12+2+2+1=31. A precise hit. Dmg: 4d10(19)+5+1-2(DR)=23. Just under the damage threshold! However, when aiming RA-JR automatically denies the firebreather its dex bonus, and can choose to use "Knockdown strike". The firebreather loses its footing and topples to the ground, prone.

I'll hold for a few hours for rebuttals and then post the YV turn.

Tyro's comlink crackles - an unusual effect in a galaxy of near-perfect communications. "We're about halfway done loading the transports! The outer buildings near the perimeter are mostly evacuated but if they break through it's going to be a bloodbath! Civilians are crowding the transport zone! Hold them off a bit longer!"

Even as the garrison commander is speaking, Tyro, you observe the remaining firebreather right itself and begin lumbering towards the line.

Firebreather 'A' expends a move action to stand up from prone and spends a second move action to move towards the trench. It expends one swift action to move itself back up the condition track (1|3).

Beetle squads 'C' and 'D' make a DC20 ride check as a swift action to spur their mounts forward with a bonus 2 movement to base speed. With a d20(12) +17 'D' succeeds easily, but 'C' which rolls a natural 1! Beetle 'C' does not get bonus movement, and moves -1 on the condition track.

Squads 'A' and 'B' spur their mounts to all-out movement as a full-round action, and each beetle charges forward with 32 squares of movement. They approach the bunker with a tremendous clatter, the squads clinging to the beetles' carapaces. As they are making a full-round action the squads have no remaining actions, and the beetles lose their dex bonus to defense, decreasing their REF by 2 and leaving them open to attack.

Squad 'D' pushes their beetle forward in a move action of 10 squares, then makes a charge action using the trample feat. The beast charges another 10 squares and tries to overrun Krusseck, making an attack roll 1d20(12)+19=31 (a hit), dealing 2d6(4)+10=14 points of trample damage. As soon as it is done trampling Krusseck, it abruptly turns around and tries to gore him from behind with its powerful staghorn. It rolls 1d20(11)+19+2=32 (a hit), dealing 2d6(10)+26=36 dmg. As a free action, it is going to use 'Bantha Rush' to push Krusseck into the path of the other beetle!

Spoiler: 'Beetle Charge' (hover to show)

Squad 'C' moves in the wake of beetle 'D' to make a powerful charge attack as Krusseck is thrown forward. It rolls 1d20(10)+19+2-1=30 (a hit). It deals 2d6(6)+26=32 dmg.

Krusseck, battered about, is now sandwiched between two angry beetles and their riders.

Krusseck should have an AoO against D as it moves over him before it actually gets to trample.  Also note Power Attack at -6/+12 is still in effect.  His DR would lower trample damage to 13 which would burn through his temporary hitpoints and take 3 off hit total.  Of course that's before the other hits land.  Thank goodness for Improved Damage Threshold although that many not be enough to shake off one of those hits.

Spoiler: position and movement (hover to show)

DAMN, those two beasts gained too much separation.  Was hoping we could hit both with some AoE attacks but no we've also got Krusseck between them.

Spoiler: YV status at the end of their round? (hover to show)

Squad D uses mounted combat to use their reaction to made a ride check DC20 to negate the attack: 1d20(16)+17=33. Krusseck's attack does no damage.
