It feels like the items we seek are nearby but it is not possible to get an exact determination where; they have probably been dormant for so long.  I'm still getting a fuzzy feeling about the locals; perhaps they can help use find what we see although it seems we may need to help them as well.

Euipped with the new knowledge, Torkad will look for a suitable landing site. As he works he murmurs "For someone not knowing the Force, jariŽtroane /uglies/ sure know when and where to go to cause us trouble. Ten creds say that the Rakatas are now serving them, willingly or not."

Ghost:  Any place they set down roots they enslave the population.  If you can pull them out fast enough then maybe the population can recover otherwise things generally aren't too good.

Talinn:  Some histories suggest the Rakatas worship the Force and the Yuuzhan Vong couldn't be further from that.  It seems to me that either the Rakatas may be willing to throw of the chains of these heretics or that the Vong have broken them completely.

Torkad, with the ship's sensors it isn't too difficult to find landing sites in gaps in the foliage. You could set down anywhere in the jungle, or you could try and land using only the sensors somewhere within the smoke cloud, and you'd need a quick hand on the controls. It is about 20 kilometers from the settlement to the edge of the smoke cloud in any direction.

Are you scans getting any surface penetration?  It's possible the artifact we've heard about is in some underground or over grown area.

The scans of the settlement show gaps of air underneath some of the structures - it would appear there are either naturally occurring caves or some sort of excavations beneath the settlement.

"Well, Tar, how do you feel about landing just by the sensors? Or would you prefer a trek through the jungle?" Torkad turns to the cerean pilot.

Tar-No-Sha hears the information pouring in and weighs in.

"I'd rather not trek through the jungle if we can avoid it.  I say we go in hot, landing as close to the settlement as we can.  We could use the turbolasers and the proton torpedoes to carve away some of the foilage and give us a better landing spot.  Then our ride isn't 20 klicks away when we decide to bust outta here."

We still don't want to get too close that we are detected so fly "quietly".  It'll be much better if we land some distance away and sneak our way in than if we fly right in an announce our presence to any YV that may be there! As for a quick escape if that volcano cannon is active lifting off too close to it may make for a very short escape.

The fire has probably cleared out a spot large enough to land in so we shouldn't need to blast a hole.  If final visibility is a problem I can take over the helm as this is these are visibility conditions I prefer as it's harder to spot us.

Gialle will of course use skilled advisor for whoever is piloting, and I guess Torkad can aid the check too by using the sensors for another +2 (with his Use Computer, he can "take 1" to suceed on aid another check)
