Caleb, rebuked by the Chancellor's response simply shakes his head no.

Caleb then turns to the newly named ambassador, a little taken aback by his change in attitude.  One minute he is curt and all business, the next he is laughing about this burden put upon him...well all of us really.  Uh yeah Ambassador this will be a grand time

Assuming we don't get ourselves killed Caleb thought to himself

Berratol was trying hard not to laugh. He respected the Masters and understood why he wasn't given command of the overall mission, he was only a Padawan and would have his plate full with his own assignment. However the Chancellor was beginning to grate his nerves. I hope it's only the hour and stress. Otherwise the Republic is in danger if they elected someone Like this. There was nothing that he could do about being an "attache" which had such a large swing room it could be next to no authority or depending on Tarchit effective command of the mission. Berratol thought of one thing he could do to solidify his place on the mission and backhand the Chancellor's smug Mr. Berratol comment with out disobeying the Masters, technically. Standing Berratol looked to the Tarchit and bowed deeply to the newly appointed Ambassador Your Excellency, It will be my honor to be your Jedi Ambassador if you wish it.

Tarchit nods to the young Jedi, looking as if he accepted his offer without saying directly so. You didnt need to be a Jedi to feel the risen irradiation from the Jedi Masters around, and the Chancellor still hadn't answered, so he decided to just move on then. "Sir, is there anything else for us, or should we get on with the mission?"

Berratol was careful to not let his sigh of relief show. He had gone out on a bit of a leg and for him at least it could have been bad. Although Berratol had noticed that Tarchit didn't explicitly regent or accept him. In fact it looked like Tarchit had found the prefect middle ground with out really trying. Maybe he would make a good Diplomat after all. Berratol remained standing sensing that they where about to be dismissed.

Caleb doesn't understand any significance to what Berratol and Tarchit are saying with a jedi ambassador, wasn't that already assumed? oh well.  Caleb waits with the others, for the Chancellor to respond, failing at completely hiding his anxiety.

The Chancellor smiled once more at Tarchit's comment, "Of course, all the benefits, duties, responsibilities, and consequences that come along with being an Ambassador are yours, Ambassador Tarchit. Please do enjoy yourself on this mission. It isn't often that such an important mission comes along. Please do keep in mind that I and in turn you will be held responsible in front of the Senate and the Republic Allocations Committee for any unusual expenditures."
As Padawan Berratol offered his services to Tarchit as a Jedi Ambassador, the Chancellor's face darkened although this could be due to him standing up to pace behind his desk.

"Padawan Berratol, we will speak with you further about the feelings that the WatchCircle has discovered. Expect a message from us on your com when you exit hyperspace. If you have any other questions about it send them to use prior to entering hyperspace. For now though stick with the Chancellor's plans. This was after all his mission to start with." J’aric explained, "Your initiative is noted and is greatly appreciated in these troubled times. Use it to your advantage on this mission and learn to temper it with experience."

The Chancellor appeared pleased with what J'aric has said, the first time all night beyond his amusement with Tarchit. He yawned and then waved a hand, "That will be all gentlemen. I look forward to your successful return. You will find a ship waiting for you in my hanger. All the arrangements have already been made and there will be equipment there for you to select from should you need anything."

With that you are clearly dismissed. The guards escort you out, "Do you need to pick up anything before we take you to the Chancellor's hanger?" They offer you a speeder with a single guard to drive you to your destinations.

Caleb exits and heads to a speeder with the guard.  Yeah if I could head back to my bunk and get my gear.  I reckon I'll meet you all at the hangar

Caleb goes back to collect his gear, checks over his weapons and heads to the hangar.

Caleb looks over the equipment selected for them to make sure it is functional and there isn't any damage they will later be blamed for.  I see we got a droid to do the talking for Ambassador Tarchit here so we can all understand, but I've been thinking maybe something else ya know in case the droid ain't with us or something.  Maybe a vox-box or some kind of thing like that would help.  I don't know just thinking I've seen em before and they can be useful.

Caleb looks around for any datapads with the information he requested.  Not finding any he turns to the nearest person Pardon me but I was hoping to find some information regarding the fauna, terrain and culture of our destination to study in hyperspace, know where I can find it?

Caleb turns to Ambassador Tarchit and Jedi-Ambassador Berratol, Well Ambassadors I'm fixin we should be prepared for everything, we can chat more on board but I'm a decent shot with these here weapons, he motions towards his pistol and rifle and I ain't a bad pilot and can repair some basic mechanical issues.  Ambassador Tarchit I'm guessing you're good at making sure you're the last one standing.  Master Berratol if your parlor trick from before was just that I think you can handle yourself no matter the problem.

Caleb continues to inspect the gear while conversing with the others.

Tarchit stands up when the Chancellor dismisses them, ignoring the crafted response. When asked about transport, he says yes in Military sign and growls a simple "Yes"

When he arrives at his small flat in the Justicar sector, he grabs his bowcaster and bandolier with quills, grabs his utility belt, and is brought back to the hanger, where the others are waiting.

When the Sergeant bring up a vox box, Tarchit nods and growls something anyone can tell means "Yes, exactly, that would be nice

He gets out a datapad and types out his response to the equipment request, giving it to the Sergeant "I have most of the gear I'll ever need. Whatever you and the Padawan feel is necessary, I'll okay it if needed. I'm a decent pilot, and can also do mechanic repair and even some light slicing in a pinch. As for weapons, what my Bowcaster cant take down, my blade or my fist will"

Berratol waited to follow Tarchit out, a sign of respect for his new boss. When offered to return to his quarters he declined and in a voice that sounded as if he where quoting said, "I only have need of my lightsabers for protection, robes for warmth, and a few credits for food. A Jedi needs nothing else." The guard seemed to think that something was wrong with Berratol, but seemed to get the message and left Berratol at a corridor to the hanger while he continued escorting the others to the hanger. Since the others had returned to their rooms Berratol arrived in the hanger well before them and found a well light hanger, bustling with activity. Most of the crew where busy readying the ship that Berratol saw. A sergeant approached him and asked for any special requisitions, Only a suit of Light Armor form the Jedi Academy. Berratol had used republic armor before, but he always found it bulky and un-elegant. When he wore Jedi armor, he could feel the craftsman ship that went into it, the millennium of tradition and sometimes centuries of experience of the armor-smith. Even the plainest of Jedi armor was more beautiful yet functional then the best of the Republic's armor. And the Jedi's ceremonial pieces? They where truly works of art worthy of a museum, yet still complexly functional as armor. The quatermaster looked at Berratol and was a bit taken aback about the request, I will submit a request to the Academy for long term armor, but I can't guarantee it. I am sure you will do all you can, Thank you.
When the solider, and ambassador arrived form their rooms Berratol moved his hovering pacing near them but didn't speak. There would be time for that on the ship and the sergeant seemed to be flustered by the power of the people he had just met, and impressed by the "Ambassador" and himself. Although I assume for the Wookie impressing people is par, and as for Jedi, I could kill most people in here with a simple thought. I guess that would impress some. When Caleb spoke Berratol was glad the solider had addressed him as Ambassador, it would help cement the idea in the minds of others. Berratol laughed to the comment about parlor tricks, Oh, it was just a parlor trick, and you won't believe some of the crazy things I can do. He couldn't manage to suppress a smile, it was true after all. Well I have everything I need and so does the Ambassador,  what about you sergeant?

As Berratol finishes the quartermaster returns, handing Caleb a datapad with the information he requested.  Thank you kindly

Caleb turns back to the Ambassadors Nah I think I'm good now that I got this.  Unless mission command has something else for us before we take off.  I figure the sooner we get loaded up and off world the sooner we can start to figure some of this puzzle out.  He continues to go through gear, loading it onto the ship.  I don't know about the two of y'all but I know I'm looking forward to catching up on sleep.  Caleb yawns as he sets down some medpacs.

Anyone know how long it'll take to get there?  Space travel and space maps aren't really my cup of caf.  Once the gear is loaded up and they are waiting for the jedi armor to arrive, Caleb settles down to studying the datapad provided to him, figuring he'll need all the time he can to prep, sleep and get to know the Ambassadors before they land.

I'm sure the pilot can inform us of the travel time once he arrives. I can't imagine they would send out a diplomatic envoy with out at least a small entourage of pilot and a few security guards. Berratol refrained form saying that with the desperation of the situation the Chancellor seemed to hint at there might not be enough men to send a entourage.Sleep does sound good though.  Tell me if you find anything interesting in that report. With that Berratol sits down next to Caleb and shuts his eyes entering a shallow state of Meditation.

The scarlet vessel reflects the bright lights in the hanger, casting a blood red hue over the working troopers and the crates of equipment and supplies. The cruiser is lightly armored and armed with only a few weapons visible. The troopers move quickly and efficiently loading the crates into the cargo hold of the vessel. The quartermaster salutes after you give him your requests and signals for a couple of troopers to track down the requested items.

The ship is obviously brand new, there are no scuff marks in the deck plating and the air filtration units still put out air that is distinctly sterile. The lounge in which you find yourselves is of high quality, the Chancellor obviously considered this appointment to be important enough to provide an example of the Republic’s wealth and power.

After fifteen minutes, there is a knock on the lounge door. Three Republic Troopers step into the room. The human in the lead wears the markings of a Lieutenant while the Duros and the Cathar carry the insignia of Sergeants. They quickly salute and the human introduces the three.

“Lieutenant Cal Oamuys in charge of Whisper Platoon. These are my sergeants: Sela Barakis in charge of Hurricane Squad,” the Duros nods, “and Kev Rohtul in charge of Blitz squad.” The Cathar nods and smiles, his sharp teeth gleaming in the light.
Cal continues, “We are your support staff and crew for this mission. It should be a fairly straight forward mission although the maxim is ‘Be polite, Be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody that you meet.’ We are that plan for you.”

He clears his throat and continues, “The final supplies are being loaded into the ship as we speak and we are just awaiting the arrival of our pilot. Once the pilot arrives we will take off. The copilot has already completed the preflight checks. It is approximately 7 hours  in hyperspace before we reach Datov. We should arrive around midday local time.”

Sergeant Barakis steps forward and hands a translator unit to Tarchit. “Ambassador, here is your translation unit. We took the liberty of encoding Shyriiwook, Basic, and Zabrak as the primary languages at the moment.”

Sergeant Rohtul pulls a datapad from his pocket. "We have instructions to pass this along to you. It is a few details on what you may encounter beyond the system and its regular inhabitants. Once you are finished with it, Ambassador Tarchit knows what to do with the datapad."

The ground crew begins packing valuables and supplies into the frigate. They move quickly, especially so what with the watchful eye of their supervisor present. Fueling and maintenance crew begin locking down hatches and packing away their equipment. This ship itself, despite its shining exterior and lack of prior action, is the perfect example of a well cared for Republic frigate. On its hull in bright white and unscuffed paint reads 'Liberty Exetus'.

Spoiler (hover to show)

It doesn't take long for the ground crews to finish their work and remove themselves as the marshals, wearing orange vests and carrying glowing yellow wands, to settle into place. From their positions in front of the ship its clear to those aboard that they are checking with the control operators for clearance.

When the soldiers enter Caleb stands up and salutes Sir to the lieutenant, Caleb nods and smiles at the two sergeants as they are introduced.  When handed the datapad Thanks Kev, names Caleb, pleasure to meet y'all.  Hopefully we won't need to utilize yer skills, but if we do it looks like we are in good hands.

Caleb sits back down with the datapad.  Hope ya don't mind but I'm gonna scan through this right quick and see what we're in for.  Anyone want to take a gander when I'm through?
Spoiler: datapad handoff (hover to show)

After finishing looking through the datapad Caleb quips Well this looks like itll be an interesting trip to say the least, and that's before we even land.  Crazy storms and mountains all over.  Might as well get comfy now.  We probably won't get the chance later.  Caleb settles down into his seat, anxious for this mission to truly begin.  This is really his first important task, well at least since leaving the farm.  Hopefully if all goes well, which he is sure it won't, maybe he can start to get some information about The Empire and what he is looking for...

Spoiler: OOC (hover to show)

When the last of the gear arrived Berratol was fast about getting on the ship, he was never found of the down time in between places and wanted to get the mission moving as quickly as possible. Berratol found his rooms quickly enough, but with no possessions to leave in them, he left it quickly. Bedrooms where for sleeping or meditating and he wasn't doing either at the moment. When went to the ships lounge expecting to find the others there. Although the Republic could only send a rag tag group as their Ambassadors they at least still had the money to make them look like a real delegation. I guess we are a Delegation, if not a traditional one.
When the  Lieutenant  and Sergeants walked into the room he stood to greet them. He hoped they had the mettle for the mission. Berratol had seen soldiers, and even Jedi, balk at the reality of war; and a security team not capable of doing its job was a complication and an embarrassment. Berratol wasn't sure how much they had been briefed on and was not a fan of leading men into they know not what. I assume that although this is a "Diplomatic" mission you are aware that the primary mission is anti-terrorism operations? Berratol nodded to the Lieutenant's reply. When Caleb began to read Berratol took the time to excuse himself. Once you and the Ambassador are finished with that, could you bring it by my quarters, I will be resting there?
